Continuity mistake: Justin, the boy with the toy aircraft running away from his mother, towards the pyramid in the beginning of the movie, has the toy in his left hand while going up the ramp, while falling and as he begins traveling up through the air but when the angle of view changes it is in his right hand until he lands on his father. (00:02:05 - 00:02:45)
Continuity mistake: Gru drops the bag with the muffin in just before his video call. The bag and muffin disappear instantly. (00:06:30)
Continuity mistake: When Gru asks about the carnival game, the straw on the game handler's game is pointing straight out of the cup, but when Gru agrees and pays for the game, when the game handler accepts the money and takes a sip from the cup, the straw is suddenly pointed towards his mouth. (00:55:45)
Continuity mistake: When Gru enters his place with the girls, the dog bites the newspaper he holds and leaves pieces of paper scattered on the floor. When the angle changes the floor is clean.
Continuity mistake: At the very end of the movie the 3 girls are performing on stage. Agnes is wearing white tights, but after the platform raises them all above the house she no longer has tights, just bare legs.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where they're in the air close to the end of the movie, when Margo tries to jump to Gru's plane, Vector grabs her and points the squid launcher at Gru, then the moon hits Vector, knocking him and Margo off his ship. When Vector climbs back up to his ship, the moon's gone. It couldn't have rolled away because Vector's ship didn't move in that short time.
Continuity mistake: Gru and two minions run through the air vent and fall through a hatch. There was no sign of the hatch in previous shots.
Continuity mistake: In the very first shot of inside the orphanage, the tape mark on the floor is at least 3 feet away from the desk. The three girls stand behind it and 2 shots later we can see they are standing about an inch away from the desk. Then when Miss Hattie stands up, the tape is now a foot away from the table.
Continuity mistake: When Mr. Perkins crushes the apple, it switches from his left to right hand between shots.
Continuity mistake: When Agnes is in bed, she sees the three minions who got the unicorn for her. The minion dressed as a baby is empty handed until he reaches Agnes's bed, where he gives her the unicorn that appeared in his hand.
Continuity mistake: When the three girls are walking away from Gru, they are about to walk past Fred's driveway. In the next shot, they have already walked past the driveway within a split second.
Continuity mistake: When Mr. Perkins tells Gru to get their money back, he crushes an apple in his hand and drops the remains onto the floor. When the angle changes, the remains of the apple have disappeared.
Continuity mistake: It's bright daylight (seemingly morning or early afternoon) when Gru goes down to the lab to reveal his plan to steal the moon. His speech is punctuated with him posing in front of the moon in the night sky, even though it was daylight just a few minutes earlier.
Continuity mistake: Vector burns a hole to steal the shrink ray on top of Gru's plane-thing. It disappears later.
Continuity mistake: When the girls put a mud pie on Hattie's desk, the leaves on it keep changing from wilted to perfect between shots.
Continuity mistake: After Gru tells the first minion "Minions assemble", that minion slides down a pole and relays the instructions to other minions. After he does this you can see a minion standing on the right of a blue tube and he jumps in, after the camera begins to pan to the left, that same minion instantly appears back at the entrance of the tube. Probably an error in the animation sequence which returned the minion to his starting position when his animation was finished.
Continuity mistake: The girls shoot the freeze ray at Gru and he gets covered in ice. After his flashback he falls back and the ice shatters. But when Gru says "But I...", the ice has disappeared.
Suggested correction: Actually, the ice is still there, it's just out of view.
While it is out of view, that would mean it'd be visible in the reflection of the TV screen when it turns off. But it isn't. Therefore, it does disappear.
The only thing that can be seen when the television turns off is a very faint reflection of Gru. It is impossible to tell if the ice is or isn't there.
Yeah, though ice is just not in the camera view.
Continuity mistake: When Gru tells the minions what he's going to do, one of the minions take out a torpedo. The angle of the torpedo changes between shots.
Continuity mistake: When the girls are trapped in Vector's glass bubble, Margo's sweater changes from having rolled up sleeves to normal. Especially visible when the bubble smashes.
Continuity mistake: During one of Gru's attempts to break into Vector's house, he is targeted with many bombs. In the first shot, only one of the bombs is colored red on the end. In the next shot, at least half of the bombs are colored red on the end.
