Visible crew/equipment: After Gracie leaps off stage onto the gun man and yellow shirt man, she and the two men fall to the ground. A piece of the light blue safety mat can be seen under the legs of the yellow shirt man. Don't confuse it with the blue pants of the woman sitting center screen. Continuity mistake: After Gracie is given the title of Miss Congeniality, Miss Texas (with her broken nose) and some others go up to hug her. As Miss Texas is hugging Gracie up at the podium in the first shot, the very next shot is a close-up of Victor and Matthews in the 'audience', and seen right in front of them in the audience is Miss Texas. Gracie Hart: Good evening, I know the program says I'm supposed to play the water glasses for you, but, uh, some of the girls got dehydrated.
Trivia: Gracie's and Vic's hotel room in the movie are both marked 103 for some reason. The crew did it on purpose, for reasons unknown.
Answer: It is an image Victor Melling conjures in an effort to elicit a calm, zen-like state for Grace. He is trying to assist her to focus on the competition, rather than her fear of walking the stage in a two piece swimsuit.
