Deliberate mistake: When Max opens the dog food, the lid should be all jagged because of the type of can opener he uses, but when dog and the gyro captain have the can the lid is cut smoothly. This was done so dog didn't get cut whilst eating out of the can.

Trivia: The logo on the tank truck is "7 Sisters Oil", reference to a conspiracy theory, popular before OPEC-conspiracy theories took over, that Standard Oil and six other companies controlled the world oil market and bought up and suppressed 200-MPG carburetor and so on to keep oil prices up.
