The Monster Squad

Character mistake: The wolf-man says, "I'm the guy they shot last night," and Del's partner says, "the van crash last night," but those events were two days prior to these scenes.

Character mistake: It doesn't occur to our heroes (admittedly kids) that you don't need to understand German at all in order to read it out loud. It's arguably easier to read than English! The only inscrutable letter would be "ẞ" but Scary German Guy's right there for help. (True, this is essentially what they end up doing in the end, but they still come about it through a "you don't need to be of age to be a virgin" realization rather than the even simpler "you don't need to know German.").

Continuity mistake: When Horace is confronted by the Gillman and has picked up the shotgun, he looks inside and sees E.J. and another kid hiding behind the counter. Horace begs them to let him in. E.J. and the other kid shake their heads no and lower themselves behind the counter. A few seconds later, a distant shot shows the two shaking their heads and lowering themselves behind the counter again.

Trivia: To keep things "real" between Dracula and the kids, Duncan Regehr would not interact with the children in the film unless they were shooting a scene. He wouldn't speak to them, eat with them, or acknowledge them at all to keep a wall of distrust up with them. After the film wrapped, it was reported he treated them and their families to dinner to celebrate.

Question: What was the point of Dracula blowing up the clubhouse? He obviously knew the kids weren't there because he tells the father that he is going for his son.

Answer: He's pissed off at the kids.

Answer: It was in retaliation for them stealing the amulet from him. You can actually consider it the first shot of the impending battle between the monsters and the Squad.
