Continuity mistake: When Cindy gets back home she walks into Cody's room to see if he is in there. She then spots a drawing on the bed. She picks the drawing up with her left hand. When it cuts to a closeup of the drawing she is holding the drawing with her right hand. (00:57:40)
Continuity mistake: When Cindy pushes the knife under the door, her left knee is a few inches from the door. When it cuts her knee is close into the door. (01:01:35)
Continuity mistake: When Cindy picks up one of Cody's drawings at school you see three drawings left on the table. When it cuts from behind Cody there are four drawings on the table. (00:09:50)
Continuity mistake: When Cindy slowly approaches the cellar door because she can see there's someone on the other side, you can see to the left of the door, and no shovels are visible, but later when Mahalik gets into the cellar shovels have suddenly appeared there. (01:01:15 - 01:02:55)
Continuity mistake: When Mahalik hits the alien with a shovel, the alien's head flies off, but when we see the alien lying on the ground, you can see the alien still has his head. (01:05:15)
Continuity mistake: When Cindy finds Cody drawing, you can see that the girl in the picture has bent legs. After she is done flipping through the pile of paper she looks at Cody's drawing, but this time the girl's legs are straight. (00:12:35)
