Continuity mistake: In the beginning, when we first get to Tom Logan's house, you see there is not any smoke coming from the chimney. But later on, when we see the shot from above the corn field and the house, you see smoke coming out of the chimney. I doubt Tom would have made a fire because he ran out of the house immediately after hearing Sue screaming, and he had just gotten out of bed. (00:03:55 - 00:05:35)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Cindy gets an envelope with some pictures in it from Brendas mother, Cindy is holding the envelope and the pictures in her left hand and as she is looking through the pictures she puts the pictures behind the envelope. When it cuts no pictures are behind the envelope, but all are in front. (00:31:15)
Revealing mistake: When Simon Cowell is being shot at, it's an obvious stunt double, and you can also tell the double is wearing a bullet proof vest. (00:17:15)
Revealing mistake: When the president's security officer is blowing up the picture of Mother Theresa with a shot gun, it is obvious that the explosion is coming from the outside since all the pieces blow inwards. (00:57:15)
Continuity mistake: When Tom arrives at the scene where his wife is injured you can see out his back window of the car that there is nothing there. But when he gets out there are two police cars standing right behind him with red lights on. (00:27:50)
Continuity mistake: When Tom gets down to the cellar you see George standing by something that is covered by a brown carpet. When it cuts to Tom walking you can see a trash can suddenly appear on the right side of the brown carpet. Not easy to see cause it happens kind of fast, but if you roll it in slow motion you can see it. (01:00:10)
Continuity mistake: When George says "What is that thing?" you see him and Tom standing close to each other. Then a closeup on Tom with George out of the picture and when it cuts George is suddenly standing close to Tom again. (00:47:45)
Other mistake: In the scene where Tabitha comes out the TV, Brenda sits on the couch and eats some popcorn. Then she gets up and fights Tabitha, and for some reason, in one shot you can see a frying pan on the couch, where Brenda was sitting. (00:25:20)
Continuity mistake: When Tom is talking to the Sheriff about his wife, he holds a donut. The way he holds it changes between shots. (00:29:00)
Continuity mistake: During the rap contest some guys gun goes off by accident and he gets thrown out. But still he reappears in some shots. (00:14:25)
Continuity mistake: As Cindy picks up the videotape in Brenda's room, you can see she is holding the back side of the videotape. When it cuts the videotape has suddenly rotated in her hand. (00:35:10)
Other mistake: When Cindy slides the knife under the door she says that the aliens are hideous and gives a description of what they look like. When Mahalik comes crashing into the basement, George says, "There's two of them at the door." Cindy never said how many were there she just said what they looked like so George couldn't have known how many aliens were at the door. (01:01:40 - 01:02:40)
Continuity mistake: When Brenda is 'choking' you see Cindy standing right in front of her. When it cuts Cindy is standing to the side of Brenda. (00:22:45)
Continuity mistake: In the President's office, a cup lies on the President's table. During the scene the cup moves on the table. (00:49:40)
Continuity mistake: When Tom puts his arm around his wife's head he puts his right arm around it. When it cuts he has his left arm around her head. (00:30:05)
Continuity mistake: When Mahalik is hugging George you see George push Mahalik away. When it cuts George push Mahalik away again. (00:17:45)
Other mistake: When the Presient is chanting "Hey how are ya" to the native americans, in a wide shot you can see Wilson slap his face with embarrassment. Then it cuts to a closeup of Wilson, and he once again turns his head and slaps his face. (00:55:45)
Continuity mistake: Brenda's grandmother changes from being fainted in the couch to be standing OK between the shots. (00:32:35)
Continuity mistake: When George throws the paint bucket at the bicyclist you see the bucket roll away and the guy falls far away from his bicycle. In the next shot the bucket and bicycle are right next to the guy. (00:38:05)
Continuity mistake: When Brenda's mom almost is fainting you see her falling back in a chair. There is also a black man sitting right beside her. In the next shot she is being held up by a white man, and the black man is no longer sitting in the chair. (00:32:30)
