Corrected entry: In 1958, Plymouths could be ordered with radios (as was Christine in the movie). However, radio technology at that time still used vacuum tubes and vacuum tubes take time to warm up. Transistor (solid state) radios require no warm up time and produce audio instantly when turned on, but transistor radios were not used in cars until the early 60's. Typically, vacuum tube radios takes approximately 5-10 seconds for audio to be heard after the radio is turned on. In the assembly line scene (as well as later scenes), the radio is turned on and music is heard instantly but this is simply not possible with a vacuum tube radio.
Correction: The car is possessed. Evil doesn't follow any rules.
Apart from the tagline of the movie, we are not given any indication Christine is possessed by an external force. She was born evil and sentient.
Correction: Arnie cobbled the car together with parts from Darnell's wrecking yard. Also, there are a number of companies that make modern electronic radios with the face plates of the original car for car restorers.
The car radio came on the instant it was turned on on the assembly line in 57. It played Buddy Holly, Not fade away.
Factual error: When Christine is about to crush Moochie you see the car is a few inches wider than the entrance to the loading dock. Even a small box truck that you can rent is 7'3" wide so that opening would have to be wider than that for the truck to back in. A 1958 Plymouth Fury is only 6'6" wide. Christine would have had plenty of room to just drive in and crush Moochie. (01:45:45)
Suggested correction: Just to the side there is a sign saying fork lift loading area. A fork lift is much narrower than a truck or a car.
Not disagreeing that a forklift couldn't go down there but @ 1:05:28 you see DANGER spray painted on the right in yellow on the bricks. Below that you see a yellow sign with black letters that say FORKLIFT AREA. Does not say "loading area." Also notice the black rubber bumper that goes across the entire length of the loading dock. That is there to cushion the trailer or box truck when it touches the loading dock. Then the yellow black yellow bumper that goes around the inside of the area is there to protect the building when the driver is backing up with either a trailer or a box truck.
Continuity mistake: At the the end of the film, Dennis uses the Caterpillar tractor to ram Christine. He also immobilizes the car by dropping the teeth of the loading bucket into the roof. Then we see close-ups of the car repairing itself completely. The next shot, just before the tractor starts to crush the car, shows the car in its previous smashed-up condition again. (01:44:15)
Suggested correction: If you watch the scene again the hood pushes forward as if it magically appeared. It is supposed to be possessed.
Correction: I re-watched the film recently and the book is not Christine. It is a book by Darwin. This can be seen if you pause the film right before Dennis removes the book from the shelf.
