Continuity mistake: As Lauren Bacall walks over to the window we see the sunlight coming directly in. Earlier in the scene when she was standing on the other side of the room the sunlight was coming in from a different direction shining on the opposite wall. (00:11:15)

Continuity mistake: In her car Agnes Lowzier looks down as she tells Marlowe, "That's where Eddie Mars' wife is hold up". In the next shot she's facing her right and looking at Marlowe. (01:33:00)

Visible crew/equipment: Joe Brody says to Marlowe, "Look, you got what you came for and you got it cheap, I don't known anything about a picture, do I Agnes?". If you look closely at Marlowe the camera's shadow appears on his chest. (00:53:45)

Continuity mistake: As Marlowe walks out of Geiger's store there's no car in front of the door. In the next shot from a different angle there's a car right in front of the door. (00:38:40)

Continuity mistake: As she speaks to Marlowe, Dorothy Malone Asks, "Is there something I can do for you?" and she reverses the pencil she's holding between shots. This happens again about a minute later. (00:15:35 - 00:16:05)

Continuity mistake: In the DA's office Capt. Cronjager says to Marlowe, " So all you failed to do was report a murder that happened last night?". If you look closely at the far right of the screen there's a shadow on the wall of a female sculpture that wasn't there when we saw this spot at the beginning of the scene when Marlowe and Bernie Ohls walked in (1945 Version on DVD). (01:04:50)
