Continuity mistake: During "In a Care Bear Family," everybody is shown seated at the heart-shaped table with bowls, spoons and cups. But watch how all of this tableware briefly vanishes as soon as Tenderheart Bear approaches the table. (01:07:05)
Continuity mistake: When Baby Hugs and Tugs are sitting on Braveheart's lap as Tenderheart makes an announcement, each cub is shown with a symbol on the white fur of their tummies. But a few shots later, Baby Tugs is drawn without a symbol. As a matter of fact, his entire tummy is now drawn completely blue instead of white. (01:07:10)
Continuity mistake: While Braveheart Lion is holding Baby Hugs and Tugs at the Care Bear Cousin inauguration ceremony, they separate a party popper which scatters confetti and a hat. The hat, landing on Braveheart's nose, has two red stripes. When Baby Tugs removes the hat, notice that it now has two additional red stripes. (01:07:10)
Continuity mistake: At the inauguration ceremony, Tenderheart Bear begins walking towards the family. Just then, four cousins leap across the heart-shaped table and start dancing on the floor (Bright Heart Raccoon, Gentle Heart Lamb, Loyal Heart Dog and Proud Heart Cat). As Tenderheart approaches the table, these cousins are once again seated, but they quickly reappear standing in the next shot. (01:07:25)
Other mistake: During the Care Bear Cousin inauguration, Bright Heart Raccoon's tummy symbol appears intermittently stenciled on his tummy a few moments before he officially receives one from Tenderheart. (01:07:45)
Continuity mistake: During "In a Care Bear Family," Tenderheart Bear starts leading the Care Bears and Cousins up a ramp in the Hall of Hearts. When they all shout "Yeah!", part of a window can be seen where the clouds and sky are dark. In a few moments everybody walks outside, but now the sky is mostly sunny and bright. (01:08:25)
Continuity mistake: At the inauguration ceremony, Tenderheart Bear is shown leading the family up a ramp adjacent to the rainbow rescue beam. But in the next shot, everybody is shown walking on the opposite ramp. (01:08:25)
Continuity mistake: As the Care Bear family is running along the blue sky chasing Tenderheart during "In a Care Bear Family", Birthday Bear is absent from the group. When we see everybody standing in line clapping their hands in the next shot, the camera pans right and he is seen standing third-to-last as the song winds down. (01:08:45)
Continuity mistake: When Mr. Cherrywood is finished telling the children a story, the clock on the wall behind him instantly changes from twenty past 9 to thirty-five past 12 after placing his magician's top hat near the lamp. (01:10:25)
Continuity mistake: When the Care Bears boat begins to be pulled into the whirlpool, made by the evil spirit fish, one of the bears grabs a rope and sends a special star into the sky to help them, attached to the rope. The bear then picks the end of the rope up, and begins to tie it to the mast. In the next shot you can see the end of the rope still laying on the floor again, unattatched to the mast, the in the next shot it's back on the mast again.
Continuity mistake: After the Care Bears and Cousins and Kim and Jason finally lock up the evil book, everyone cheers. In the shot of the Bears cheering, we see Good Luck Bear, wearing nothing, cheering. In the next shot he has his yellow raincoat back on.
Continuity mistake: When Jason first puts the key inside the evil spell book to unleash it, he inserts it vertically, parallel to the keyhole. In the next shot it's suddenly positioned horizontally, and he then turns it vertically to open it.
Continuity mistake: During the song "Home is In the Heart," when they dance around the pole tying the ribbons and then slide down the rainbow, Tenderheart Bear is now Friend Bear in this scene, for a temporary time.
Continuity mistake: When the driver delivers the treasure chest to Mr. Fettucine's magician cart, he throws a cigar down to the floor and leaves. In the next shot as Nicholas heaves the chest inside, the cigar has suddenly vanished from the floor.
Continuity mistake: When Tenderheart first picks up the key to the book, we see that it has no teeth, it's just a smooth piece of metal. Later in the movie, when Tenderheart gives the key to Jason for safe keeping, we see that it now has teeth.
Continuity mistake: When Mr. Fettuccine is sitting at his desk, stacking cards into a pyramid, in some shots, some of the cards facing outwards, show the front side of the card. However in the next shot, these cards are now showing the back (red) side of the card.
Other mistake: During the climactic moment when they're defeating the book, Jason shoves the key into the lock, sealing the evil within. However, he shoves the key into the lock upside down.
Continuity mistake: During "Home is in the Heart" after we meet the Care Bear Cousins we see everyone weaving yellow and red ribbons around a pole. Then the camera cuts to a more distant view of them sliding down some clouds away from the finished pole. The trouble is, the yellow and red color scheme we saw on the pole a minute ago is now a multi-colored rainbow scheme.
