The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

All of the teenagers are killed and Sally is tied up and terrorized by the cannibal family. The grandpa tries to kill her with a sledgehammer but only wounds her because he is too weak. Sally barely escapes the house and the brothers chase her onto the road. The Hitchhiker brother is run over by a truck and Leatherface accidentally cuts into his own leg with the saw. Sally escapes for good in the back of a passing pick-up. (We don't know if the truck driver who stopped to help Sally survives.)

Revealing mistake: After the crazy man cuts his own hand, he laughs and waves the knife. Watch carefully and you can see the hose behind the blade the blood came through. (00:13:40)

Trivia: Many praise the movie for being well acted with such a low budget. Two performers that are singled out are Marilyn Burns and Paul Partain, who play Sally and Franklyn. In the scenes where they squabble, the acting is quite impressive. But was it really acting? The two performers, in reality, could not stand each other.

Question: What happens to the guy in the yellow shirt, who hits Leatherface in the face with the wrench? The main character leaves with the guy in the truck but the yellow shirt guy doesn't. And we don't see him get killed, it just goes to Leatherface doing his dance. Are we supposed to assume that he dies?

Answer: The yellow shirt guy keeps running off screen while the main character jumps into the back of the truck. Since Leatherface's attention was solely on her, it's assumed the guy survives seeing as no one left in the Family is in pursuit.
