Factual error: When Alan gets the message that his security had been suspended at Encom, the computer gives a Date/Time stamp of Sept 22, 18:32:21 PM (6:32 PM) But at the time, it is shown to be pitch dark outside. Isn't 6:32 PM early to be completely dark outside in mid September (keeping in mind that no matter how far east one is, it can never be full dark outside at that time, at that period of the year). Also, why would the Time stamp have "PM" in it when it is using the 24-hour clock? (00:10:40)
Trivia: In the arcade, there's a shot of a man dressed in black going up and hugging a girl. Even though he's only seen from behind, this is actually a small cameo by the movie's director, Steven Lisberger. (00:17:32)
Trivia: As Alan comes into his cubicle, on the wall is a banner reading "GORT, KLAATU BARADA NIKTO", a nod to "The Day the Earth Stood Still".
Revealing mistake: When Alan gets up to go to see Dillinger, look at the cubicles. The first row that Alan came out of is real. In the immediate next row, the cubicle that is adjacent to Alan's has no visible exit, and the two that would be heading toward the white wall seem to be only leading to each other. The rest of the cubicles in the area are all a matte painting used to extend the set.
