Other mistake: During the Good Friday mass, you can see in the crowd Cyrus filming the function while Father Jud is praying, holding the cross. Once a puzzled Jud calls, "Monsignor?" and walks towards him, the camera cuts to Cy, who only at that point raises the camera and starts/resumes filming. Later on, the footage from that day is used as evidence by the forensics, and it's an uninterrupted shot with no camera movements. (00:34:30 - 00:58:10)
Other mistake: In the flashback of the closing of the casket, Martha says, "You will rise again. It will be OK. You will rise again," and after a pause, "I promise," to which the corpse responds, before Renner interrupts to put the lid on. But in the original scene, Martha, sounding also differently, would say, "You will rise again. It will be OK. You will rise again. You will rise," being immediately interrupted by Renner. Other mistake: When James gives Father Jud the receipt to sign, everyone is still present at the burial - Blanc and Jud are seemingly looking at Jeremy Renner in front of the sealed tomb. In the next scene, Jud is fuming and holding the receipt in his hand still, but everyone is already comfortably hanging out at the rectory as if they have been there for a long time. (01:07:25)
Other mistake: When Geraldine tells the agent that it's a homicide scene, you can see in the background Martha overhearing and turning towards her. The next close-up, though, is still of Glenn Close enraptured in prayer, facing forward, and she snaps out of it only when she overhears who died. (01:36:50)
Other mistake: When the killer puts the victim in the acid tub, they are not wearing the ring, which is actually the only feature that allowed the detective to identify them. (02:09:30)
Other mistake: Martha, a woman of about 70 years of age, single-handedly hoists the body of Dr Nat from the basement floor up a couple of feet into the vat.
Suggested correction: Just because we didn't see *how* she did it doesn't mean that she *couldn't have* done it.
