The fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh books on the shelf appear to be slanted by a few degrees to the right. In a closer shot of the shelf, the books are slanted much further to the right. (00:00:57)
Continuity mistake: Yugi looks at a few pieces of paper to see if it will help him put the pieces of the Millennium Puzzle together. After he puts the papers down, his left hand is empty. Then there is a close-up of him looking at one of the pieces. His left shoulder isn't shown moving in the close-up, but in the shot after that, he is holding a puzzle piece in his left hand, which wouldn't have been possible to pick up with his hand if his shoulder didn't move. Continuity mistake: After the explorers first find the tomb of Anubis, it cuts back to Yugi sitting at his desk. There is a piece of paper stuck to the lamp next to him, but in the next shot, the paper has disappeared from the lamp. (00:02:00)
Continuity mistake: When Yugi is nearly finished putting the Millennium Puzzle together, there is a shot of him inserting one of the pieces where two extra pieces of the puzzle can be seen on his desk. Two shots after doing this, he inserts another piece of the puzzle. Once this is done, there is only one piece of the puzzle left, but it is not one of the smaller pieces that were shown on the desk. Continuity mistake: When Yugi is about to insert the last piece of the Millennium Puzzle, in the shot of him looking at the piece, his left hand is holding the bottom side of the puzzle (the hand cannot be seen in the shot, but it is not shown holding the top side). Continuity mistake: A duelist inserts his deck of cards in his duel disk to prepare for a duel. In the close-up shot, his fingers are placed halfway along the top card. When the shot cuts, his fingers are closer to the edge of the top card. (00:05:35)
Continuity mistake: When Solomon is reading a newspaper, the front and back pages appear to have pictures on them at the top of the page. Then, in a closer shot, there is now only text at the top of the pages. (00:11:04)
Continuity mistake: When Pegasus is sitting in his deck chair, there is a table placed next to the deck chair. Seconds later, when he stands up after seeing Kaiba, the table is further away from the deck chair. (00:13:18)
Continuity mistake: When Pegasus stands up to greet Kaiba, there is a white, round object on the table next to the deck chair. Later in the scene, in a wide shot where the shot pans upward from the lake, the object has disappeared from the table. (00:13:25 - 00:13:57)
Continuity mistake: When Pegasus is speaking with Kaiba about the card that could defeat the Egyptian Gods, the wine glass he is holding changes its size throughout the scene. (00:13:54)
Continuity mistake: Joey and Tristan walk up to a crowd of people. In the shot where the two pop their heads up, there is a boy next to Joey with black, curly hair. When the shot cuts, the boy has grey hair and a different hairstyle. (00:15:14)
Continuity mistake: When Joey and Tristan begin running away from the crowd through the archway, in the wide shot, the wall next to the archway is dark beige on one side and light beige on the other side. Two shots later, the wall on both sides is much lighter shades of beige. (00:16:01)
Continuity mistake: At the start of the duel with the first crowd member, the duelist says, "Let's do this," and raises his left forearm with the duel disk at an upward angle. Then it cuts to a wide shot, where his forearm is at a much lower angle. (00:16:57)
Continuity mistake: On Kaiba's first turn during his duel with Pegasus, he draws one card from his deck. His right hand is positioned higher and away from his left hand, but in a close-up of the cards in his hands, the right hand is now directly over his left hand. (00:20:00)
Continuity mistake: When Kaiba summons X-Head Cannon, the cards he is holding in his left hand are held at an upward angle. Then, when the monster appears on the field in the next shot, the cards are held at a rotated angle. (00:20:04)
Continuity mistake: After Pegasus has activated Card of Sanctity, making him and Kaiba draw until they have six cards in their hand, there is a split screen shot showing the cards in their hands. In Pegasus' hand, the Cost Down card is the second card on the right-hand side. Then in the next shot, he is shown removing the end card on the right-hand side from his hand, which is revealed to be Cost Down, even though it was the second to right card in the previous shot. Continuity mistake: When Toon Dark Magician Girl attempts to attack Kaiba, in the shot of her advancing towards Kaiba, his right arm is lowered. But in the next shot of Kaiba, his right fist is raised. (00:21:42)
Continuity mistake: When Yugi and Téa are looking at the Egyptian exhibit, the floor behind them is covered in sunlight. Then it cuts to a closer shot of Yugi where there is no sunlight on the floor. (00:26:06)
Continuity mistake: When Solomon is showing Yugi and Tea the tomb at the museum, Tea has her hands raised to her chest and positioned close together. When the shot cuts, her right hand is positioned higher up than her left hand. (00:27:22)
Continuity mistake: When Yugi realises that the tomb has been stolen, Tea's left arm is at a bent angle, but when the shot cuts, her left arm is at a straight angle. (00:28:13)
