Terminator 2: Judgment Day
Terminator 2: Judgment Day mistake picture

Continuity mistake: In the scene where the Terminator and John are at the pay phone John picks the gun off the floor, it's cocked when it's in his hand, but as soon as he passes it to the Terminator, it's not cocked any more. (00:47:30)

Continuity mistake: In the scene where the Terminator has grabbed John and won't let him go until he tells him to, the Terminator almost shoots two guys who come to help. John tells him to put the gun down, which he does. Now, when John picks up the gun to hand it back to the Terminator, it goes from being cocked (the hammer pulled back) when it is in John's hand, to uncocked when Arnie takes it, to cocked again when he puts it in his belt. (00:48:50)

Other mistake: As the cop is walking towards the coffee machine, he steps on the T-1000 (disguised as the floor). The cop proceeds to the coffee machine and buys a coffee while the T-1000 turns into the cop. The T-1000 only touches his shoe, so shouldn't be able to copy his appearance. (00:51:00)

Suggested correction: The impression is given that the cop walking over the T-1000 gives the T-1000 the ability to copy him. But in truth we don't actually see when the T-1000 came with the sample of the cop to be able to copy him, maybe he had already collected his DNA beforehand. Far-fetched example is that humans shed skin and hair all the time, if that falls onto the T-1000 that could be enough.

Sorry but I disagree with this correction. If we are going down this road of "but maybe..." then it opens up a whole can of worms for what is a mistake and what isn't. In an explosion, a vase still on a shelf might have been glued but its unlikely. Where does it end? I think the original entry is for mistake is correct based on A - if the t1000 already had his DNA then why disguise himself as the floor? He'd have just killed him when he first got to the hospital and B - Unless we actually see or hear any evidence that the T-1000 would actually behave in this manner then as far as we the audience can believe, it doesn't happen.

It's about plausibility. It's to see if the writers and director actually made a mistake or gave it to our imagination.

Another possibility: people do occasionally touch the sole of their shoes when taking them on and off (or if they're polishing them, or trying to clean something off them). That would leave at least a few skin cells that the T-1000 could thus use as a sample.

Possible, but then people would leave skin cells everywhere. If this was the case, the T-1000 could scan the keyboard of a computer, or door handles to every door it passes through to receive many skin cells of different people.

Continuity mistake: When Sarah runs into the corridor to smack the guy with a broom handle, we see a close-up of him having just emerged from a store-room and turned round, standing right next to the door. There's then a very brief shot of Sarah swinging towards him, then a white flash. When we cut out to a wider shot, he's suddenly in the middle of the corridor, with no time to have moved there. (00:52:40)

Continuity mistake: When Sarah Connor hits the guy with the broom handle in a bid to escape, after the first hit, we see a close-up shot of him on the ground clutching his face. In the background we see her swing back and start bringing it down again. We then cut to a wider shot, and she repeats the motion. (00:52:40)

Continuity mistake: In the hospital scene where Arnie is rescuing Sarah, he throws a black man against a glass wall. In the next shot the man is sliding down the wall and he's now white. (00:55:20)

Continuity mistake: When Sarah Connor throws the keys to a male orderly to distract him, Dr. Silberman is standing right behind him. Two shots later, we see the doctor several feet away. The time lapse between the two shots was only one or two seconds. (00:56:25)

Terminator 2: Judgment Day mistake picture

Continuity mistake: Immediately after the Terminator shoots the gate guard at the mental institute, there is blood on the guard shack wall. A few seconds later, the blood has vanished. (00:57:30)

Continuity mistake: When Sarah is escaping from the hospital there is a scene where the T-1000 walks straight through a metal-barred door. If you look where the doctor is standing you will notice that the T-1000 clearly walks past him after he walks through the door. However, in the next sequence when the T-1000 is shooting his gun, he is way behind him. (00:59:30)

Factual error: When the Terminator is running from the T-1000 and the T-1000 shoots into the Terminator's back he shoots 26 bullets. That's impossible, the gun he is using is a Beretta 9 mm - even if double stacked it is impossible. (00:59:30)

Revealing mistake: When the Terminator is in the elevator and the T-1000 forces the door open, the Terminator shoots the T-1000 in the head. If you look closely you can see that the T-1000's head is already split down the middle. (00:59:50)

Terminator 2: Judgment Day mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When the T1000 is chasing John, Sarah and the T800 out of the hospital, the license plate on the cop car changes several times: from 999273 when we first see it to 999232 when it actually stops, then to 999001 after it jumps the grass verge, then from 999013 when it starts going straight, to 999018 when the T-1000 latches onto it. Terminator 2: Judgment Day mistake picture

Revealing mistake: When Arnold begins to beat up and throw around the workers of the hospital, the African American worker is thrown into a window. If you look carefully you can see that the window he is thrown into is a different kind of glass than the other windows that surround it, indicating that this is not real glass. You can also see that none of the other window frames of glass on the inside of the corridor. There is just the metal frames covering the windows. In some shots later in the scene when the T-1000 is chasing them down the corridor you can see the bits of glass that were left over from before have disappeared. (01:01:05)

Other mistake: When the T-1000 walks through the bars at the mental clinic, he gets his handgun stuck in the bars for a few seconds before removing it. In the close-up shot we can see the gun is stuck. But in the wide shot that precedes it, his gun isn't stuck at all. Actor Robert Patrick (T-1000) unconvincingly has his arm wrapped around the bar to make it look like his gun is stuck. (01:02:00)

Terminator 2: Judgment Day mistake picture

Visible crew/equipment: In the escape from the hospital where the car is driving fast in reverse, the stunt driver's head is visible sticking up from inside the trunk driving the car from the back. It's too far back to be John Connor's head. (01:02:05)

Terminator 2: Judgment Day mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When the Terminator shoots the T-1000's apart, in the shot of the T-1000 after the elevator door closes, Dr Silberman can be seen standing against a wall in the background. Then it cuts to the main trio in the elevator, but when it cuts back to the T-1000 and his head merges back together, Dr Silberman has suddenly disappeared. (01:02:40)

Casual Person

Continuity mistake: When the T-1000 is on the police car's trunk, the hole he produces on the windshield increases and decreases in size between shots. (01:02:40)

Terminator 2: Judgment Day mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When the T-800, Sarah and John are escaping the mental hospital in the elevator the T-1000 stabs through the top and cuts Sarah in the back. Later when are driving away from the hospital in the police car Sarah hugs John. When the camera shows Sarah's back her shirt is torn but the wound itself is gone. (01:03:10 - 01:06:45)

Continuity mistake: When the T-800 and Connors are leaving the hospital in the car driving backwards, the car jumps off a grassy embankment and lands hard on the asphalt, knocking the rear bumper loose to a hanging position. A few shots later the bumper is back on snug again. (01:04:50)

Revealing mistake: When Sarah, John and the Terminator drive through the fence to escape the mental hospital, it's (quite) obvious that the T-1000 attached to the back of the car is nothing more than a dummy. (01:05:10)

The Terminator: I need your clothes, boots and your motorcycle.
Cigar Biker: You forgot to say please.

Trivia: While the characters were running around a hot steel mill, in reality the temperatures in the mill averaged only about 40° Fahrenheit. The actors had to be consistently spritzed with water to make it look like they were sweating.

Question: Why did the T-1000 kill the officer in the beginning and steal his clothes? Later we see the uniform heal so we know he can create clothing.

brianjr0412

Answer: He didn't steal his clothes, but copied them. He can only copy things that he physically touches. He had to touch the cop to take on his look. Also since the cop was a witness to this ruthless killing machine, it needed to kill him to protect itself from being discovered too soon. The Terminator is an infiltration unit on an assassination mission to kill John Connor. As advanced as it is, it needs as little attention drawn to it as possible. Having the entire police force chasing him down would not be ideal for his goal to get Connor and would inevitably slow him down and risk allowing Connor a better chance of escape. The T 1000 also is an emotionless machine programmed by other machines that are intent on killing off all humans in the future. It doesn't value human life, and if anything has been programmed to regard them as a pest to be dealt with. The cop was a means to an ends and an obstacle to take out. As well, the cop did also posses a weapon, and was the T-1000's quickest way to get his hands on a gun.

Answer: While the T-1000 did kill the officer at the beginning (which is pretty much standard behavior for Terminators), it didn't steal the officer's clothes. It merely sampled the officer's appearance as soon as it touched him. However, it did steal the officer's firearm, because the T-1000 could not mimic complex mechanical objects or weapons (it could only mimic stabbing and cutting weapons).
