Avengers: Endgame

Continuity mistake: When they are preparing the time machine in the van for the initial time travel test, Bruce tells Scott "We're good" giving him a thumbs up. Steve is standing behind Bruce on his right. The camera then cuts to an angle from behind them where Steve is suddenly standing on Bruce's left. Then in the following shot, Steve is back to standing on Bruce's right. This happens again when Scott goes into the Quantum Realm. (00:43:54)

Continuity mistake: When Rocket and Nebula land on Earth, as Rocket is asking Scott where "Big Green" is, Scott is holding a taco shell in his right arm that is raised slightly above his knee. It then cuts to Nebula walking past him, where Scott's right arm is suddenly resting on his knee. (00:48:15)

Casual Person

Other mistake: When Thanos gets pushed over by Bruce, he is shown turning his head to the right whilst on the ground and tells the Avengers they should be grateful. Whilst Thanos was being pushed over in the previous shot, all of the Avengers in the room were shown standing several meters in front of him. If Thanos was lying on the ground with the Avengers standing several meters ahead of him and he was looking to his right, then he would have been looking at the wall and not the Avengers. (00:18:10)

Continuity mistake: When the Ancient One is about to give Bruce the Time Stone, in the shot where Bruce says "So he must have done it for a reason", the Ancient One is holding the Time Stone, the two fingers she is holding the stone with are in a curved position. It then cuts to a different angle, where the two fingers are in a more straightened position. (01:26:00)

Casual Person

Continuity mistake: When Rhodey, Hulk, and Rocket are trapped under the building, Rocket is stuck under some rubble but has one arm free. The other appears to be pinned to his chest. When Rhodey pries the rubble off him, both arms are by his side. (02:30:03)

Continuity mistake: Before Tony and Cap travel to 1970, Tony has a small wound on his left eyebrow which disappears.

Continuity mistake: When Tony and Pepper hug after reuniting on Earth, Pepper's hair is resting against her back. The camera changes angles and there is suddenly a huge lock of hair going over her right shoulder and down the back of it. (00:09:24)

Casual Person

Continuity mistake: The length of Thor's beard changes multiple times throughout the movie, and not consistent with the passage of time. For example, when talking to his mother, the beard is ~4" long, but soon after, when talking at the lake with the others about Nat's death, his beard is 7-8" long.

Continuity mistake: Just after Thanos knocks the Iron Gauntlet out of T'Challa's hand, he attempts to run over to it, but Wanda lands in front of him. T'Challa is standing in the background, a couple of meters behind her when she first lands. It then cuts to Thanos, but when it cuts to a shot panning in on Wanda, T'Challa has suddenly disappeared from the background. (02:23:10)

Casual Person

Continuity mistake: When Nat and Barton meet Red Skull on Vormir, Barton takes out his sword and points it at him. As Red Skull is saying their names, Barton's sword rotates itself by 90° in between shots. Note the position of the slits along the bottom and the pointed edge of the sword. (01:48:55)

Casual Person

Continuity mistake: When Steve is telling Sam what happened after returning the stones, Sam asks how'd that work out for him and Steve says it was beautiful. Steve is looking directly forwards at the lake when he says this. When the shot cuts, he is suddenly looking at Sam. (02:46:20)

Casual Person

Continuity mistake: Just after Tony hugs his father, he says "Thank you for everything", before saying "you've done for this country" whilst turning his head away from Howard. The shot then cuts to Howard Stark, where Tony's head is suddenly facing more towards him. (01:46:15)

Casual Person

Continuity mistake: When Tony hugs his father, he places his chin down on Howard's shoulder. It cuts to a shot of Howard Stark, where Tony does not move his head. When the shot cuts back to Tony, his head is suddenly slightly lifted off Howard's shoulder. (01:46:10)

Casual Person

Continuity mistake: Just after Tony returns to Earth, Pepper approaches Tony and starts to hug him. In the shot focusing on Tony, his chin is shown pressed against her shoulder, and then he lightly closes his eyes. When it cuts to a shot with Steve in the frame, Tony's eyes are more clenched shut and his face is more pressed against her shoulder. (00:09:24)

Casual Person

Continuity mistake: When Rocket, Hulk, and Rhodey are trapped underground, a water pipe bursts, and they nearly drown. There is a shot of the three of them with only a few inches of air left. Ant-Man comes and pulls them out, but when they reappear on the battlefield, they're dry. There was at least a few minutes between when we last saw them and when they reappear on the battlefield because Rhodey has a new suit. However, it was not enough time for them to dry completely. Hulk's hair is a little damp, but Rocket's fur is bone dry and fluffed up.

Other mistake: When the remaining Avengers confront Thanos in his compound, Bruce, in the Hulkbuster armour, pushes Thanos to the ground, and lands several meters away from where Bruce is standing. Thanos then gets punched by Bruce, who is standing directly in front of him. There are no footsteps heard of Bruce approaching Thanos before punching him. Bruce was standing a visible distance from Thanos when he pushed him and they are all standing on a wooden floor. No way would Bruce have been able to run up to Thanos without making any audible footsteps before punching him, especially with the huge Hulkbuster armour he is wearing. (00:18:10)

Casual Person

Korg: Thor, he's back. That kid on the TV just called me a dickhead again.
Thor: Noobmaster.
Korg: Yeah, Noobmaster69.
Thor: Noobmaster, hey, it's Thor again. You know, the God of Thunder? Listen, buddy, if you don't log off this game immediately, I am gonna fly over to your house, come down to that basement you're hiding in, rip off your arms and shove them up your butt! Oh, that's right, yes, go cry to your father, you little weasel!
Korg: Thank you, Thor.
Thor: Let me know if he bothers you again, okay?
Korg: Thank you very much, I will.

Question: If Captain America had to go back to return the infinity stones to balance the timeline, would he not have to go back to before Black Widow died to return the Soul Stone?

Answer: Well since he wouldn't know the exact moment she sacrificed herself, he might have shown up before then and then just had to wait for everything to play itself out before returning the stone.

Phaneron

Answer: No before Black Widow died the soul stone was still there, he had to get it back after it was taken, so after Black Widow died.

I think the poster meant he would go back to the time he knew Black Widow and Hawkeye were aiming for, or a bit before for safety, then go there and wait until Black Widow died and Hawkeye got the stone, and then return it. It would be hard for him to watch, but then he would know when the right time was.

Right. But you also have to think that, having witnessed the events, and then seeing that the Red Skull is the guardian, that would have been a damn interesting scene to watch. Does Cap try bargaining with the Red Skull to return Black Widow to life after giving the stone back? On the other hand, the Ancient One's explanation was that the flow of time occurs simply because the stones are in the universe. I don't think it mattered where they are. She only wanted the time stone back because of how it was tied to the Sanctum. So really, Cap probably could have just thrown the stone in a ditch somewhere and been done with it. It also raises a question about the nature of Vormir as the home of the stone. We see the other stones were more or less fashioned into artifacts and out and about. This implies that they too were in some sort of temple in their raw stone form before being found, seized and manipulated into a real-world application. So does Vormir even have a mechanism for receiving the stone back once it's been claimed? And what is the soul stone's solo power, anyway? Reading people's fates like a crystal ball?

Vader47000

I don't think the red skull is really the red skull anymore, just some kind of ghost of whats left of him. However the stone gets returned is irrelevant, yes he could even just leave it in a ditch somewhere. He didn't return other stones in their original form either, except the time stone. These timelines don't continue on as the original one. According to the comics the soul stone is sentient and everyone sacrificed to obtain is has their soul trapped inside the gem. Cap and the others of course don't know that (although Hulk must theoretically know having used it) or in the MCU this does not apply. When possessing it you can control any life and read their souls (their feelings and desires). One can also revert living things back their original state (like Nebula for example).
