Continuity mistake: When Dylan is exposed as the fifth Horseman, Cowan grabs him with both of his hands against Dylan's arms and pushes him up against a wall, before proceeding to handcuff him. A few minutes later, when this same scene is shown on a news broadcast, Cowan is shown putting his left hand on Dylan's bag just as he is pushed against the wall, which wasn't shown the first time. Continuity mistake: When Chase tells the bodyguards to remove the Horsemen from the restaurant, he says, "I'm not gonna let you guys yuck my yum," and turns his head downwards to the left while shooing them. Continuity mistake: When the security guards escort the CCTV guard away, Jack can be seen in the background watching it all happen. He is shown leaning his head slightly to the right, but when the shot cuts to a closer angle of him, he is hunched much further to the right. (00:18:33)
Continuity mistake: When Lula ties herself out of the ropes that Daniel tied around her wrists, she removes the ropes around her left wrist first and then removes the ropes from her right wrist. She lowers her left hand so that it is next to her right hand (and so that she can pull the remaining rope off her hand), but when the shot cuts to Daniel, her left hand is much further away from her right hand. Continuity mistake: When Daniel realises Lula isn't inside the couch, he looks over to the table to see Lula sitting there. There is a paper takeaway bag on the table that has a fold along the side of the bag, and the fold appears to end near the top. The shot cuts to Daniel, but when the shot cuts back to Lula, the fold in the bag appears to end much further down the side of the bag. (00:11:15)

Answer: Walter thought the chip was real because he placed it under a scanner and the scanner confirmed that the chip was real. However, given the fact that later on it was revealed that the whole plane sequence was a set up, it is probable that the device used to scan the chip was actually a fake that was used to make Walter believe the chip was real, most likely throw him off guard.
