Zootopia mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When the landlady shows Judy to her "luxury apartment" note the position of the vertical deadbolt lock affixed to the front door and jamb, but the next morning when Judy leaves for the ZPD, as she unlocks the door the deadbolt lock has moved higher up on the door and jamb (note wallpaper). Additionally, just as Judy opens the door we can see that although the interior deadbolt is affixed higher, its key cylinder on the exterior side is much lower, which makes no sense, but then the deadbolt is back to normal.

Question: I have two questions about Duke Weaselton. 1) Is he the same weasel who was a childhood friend of Gideon Gray's? 2) Despite Judy capturing him early on, how did he get out of prison? If he was released from prison then why?

John Ohman

Chosen answer: 1. No, it's not, that is Travis. The weasel who was a childhood friend of Gideon has brown fur, but when officer Hopps chases the Duke, the Duke's fur colour is brownish orange. 2. The Duke has gone through the period of his prison time, so he did get out - maybe the Zootopia laws are different than ours.

I would agree, but why would laws in Zootopia be different from the real world? The real world and Zootopia both have the same laws; they just apply to animals, since there are no humans.

Answer: First off, you could already tell that Duke wasn't Gideon's childhood friend, because Gideon stated his friend's name, and it was Travis. Second, Judy did capture Duke, but he didn't escape on his own. Like our government, there are certain times a person stays in jail before being released. And during the time we see him get caught, and when Judy saw him selling movies, he was probably in jail for some time.
