Rush Hour 2

Question: Before Hu Li shoots Ricky Tan he says something in Chinese - what does he say?

Question: What does Hu Li say in Chinese near the end, when she is holding the bomb that is about to blow up?

Answer: She says 'we'll go together, inspector'.

Answer: 两个王八蛋 (You two bastards), 你不就要我们死 (You wanted us to die), 现在我自己来,我来了! (Now I do it myself, I am here!) 我现在主动来了! 我来了!(I am doing this on my own now!).

Answer: "Give me money or I won't drive. Pay me, pay me, pay me" and "now you're speaking my language."

Question: While Ricky Tan is talking to Lee on the boat Hu Li comes in. She says something in Chinese and shoots him. What is the translation of what she said?

Question: Who drops Lee and Carter off after the fight at Heaven on Earth?

Answer: Hu li is in the front passenger side of the car so it is Ricky Tan's gang.

Answer: Although it's never shown, it was probably Ricky Tan's henchmen. Lee and Carter were outnumbered and decided to give up. After the fight, they were dropped off in the middle of a busy highway with no clothes on as a way to add insult to injury.

Question: Near the start of the movie, when Jackie scales the bamboo scaffold, Chris Tucker takes the stairs. During his ascent he passes an old lady who says something like "Move Kobe". What does 'Kobe' mean?

Question: Lee tells Carter early in the film that they are in a gangster bar. How then were they allowed to get in? Surely security would have been tighter. (00:04:45)

Answer: That just mean it's where gangsters hang out, not that it's exclusive to gang members. Since they were undercover, no-one at the door thought they were cops. Just like a cop bar is where cops like to go, but there's not tight security at the door preventing non-cops from coming in.

Question: What does Carter say in Chinese as they are leaving Kenny?

Answer: He's speaking gibberish, to poke fun at Kenny.

Question: If you have to burn the superbill to find out it's real, wouldn't it technically still be considered a real bill? If this is the case, why hold a casino front to launder the money when the Triads could just print an unlimited supply if they just wanted to make money?

Answer: Burning was not the only way to tell if a superbill was real, it was just the quickest way to demonstrate these particular bills were counterfeit. There were no doubt several different ways a trained eye could tell the bills were fake. The nature of counterfeiting means criminals must constantly update their methods as new security measures are developed, hence the casino front. The bills must be put into circulation as quickly as possible in an attempt to prevent exactly what happens in the film: the entire organization is brought down as the bills were traceable back to one person.

Question: Right before Lee is dropped off at the airport, Carter says to Lee "...you held out on me." What is he talking about?

Answer: He is referring to Lee and Agent Molina's relationship and how they could possibly hook up.

T Poston

He's talking about why he was after Ricky Tan.

Revealing mistake: When Inspector Lee was running through the casino, his hands are bound together with tape. When he tumbles across a gambling table, his hands come apart. When he completes the tumble, he quickly puts his hands together again. (01:09:00 - 01:10:15)

Trivia: During the scene where Zhang Zhiyi gets knocked out and Chris Tucker calls her, "a crazy a$$ b&%*h", that take was taken around 20 times due to the fact that Tucker was very conservative in trying to make up something to insult Zhang Zhiyi but not too bad. The director finally pulled Tucker aside and convinced him that he HAD to say something very insulting because of Zhang's character. And that's how the last take and the final cut for the insult was done.
