Rambo: First Blood Part II
Movie Quote Quiz

Rambo: Murdock.
Trautman: He's here.
Murdock: Rambo, this is Murdock, we're glad you're alive. Where the hell are you? Give us your position and we'll come to pick you up.
Rambo: Murdock... I'm coming to get you.

Trautman: Good luck, son.
Rambo: Murdock said he was with 2nd Battalion 3rd Marines at Kon Tum in '66.
Trautman: Yeah.
Rambo: The 2nd Battalion was at Kud Sank. You're the only one I trust.

Trautman: John, I want you to try and forget the war. Remember the mission. The old Vietnam's dead.
Rambo: Sir, I'm alive. It's still alive, ain't it?

Rambo: Wolf Den, this is Lone Wolf. Do you read? Prepare for emergency landing. Arriving with American POWs.

Rambo: To survive a war, you gotta become war.

Murdock: Colonel, are you sure Rambo's still in balance with the war? We can't afford having him involved in this mission and then crack in the pressure of that hell.
Trautman: Pressure? Let me just say that Rambo is the best combat vet I've ever seen. A pure fighting machine with only a desire to win a war that someone else lost. And if winning means he has to die, he'll die. No fear, no regrets. And one more thing: what you choose to call hell, he calls home.

Co: You're not expendable.

Murdock: Like you said, Colonel, he went home.

Rambo: Sir, do we get to win this time?

Continuity mistake: When Rambo fires the rocket launcher at the Russian Hind helicopter, he is clearly seen aiming a LAW rocket launcher. The LAW is fired by pressing a lever on the top. But when Rambo fires, a quick edit from a previous shot (on the patrol boat) shows him pulling a trigger from the Russian RPG launcher he used to dispatch the Vietnamese patrolboat earlier in the film. The film returns to show him holding the LAW rocket launcher again.

Question: How come in First Blood, Rambo went out of his way to subdue his enemies non-lethally like Batman, but in the sequels he just killed everyone?

MikeH

Chosen answer: Probably because the first film is set in the United States, and Rambo's opponents are non-military, but the sequels are set in Asia and the opponents are "foreign" (mostly Soviet) soldiers.
