Revealing mistake: The jaguar near the start jumps onto the bar and prowls along it. It knocks over one glass with some force, which shatters, but the second glass is barely tapped by its foot and it smashes to bits too, when it should just have been pushed out of the way.
Continuity mistake: When Jackson is shot with shotgun he "flies" across the bathroom, hits the wall, and falls into the tub on his right side with his left leg on top of the tub and leaning to right. Next shot he is on his back. (00:26:25)
Continuity mistake: When Booth is caught with the egg at his house, Hartley gives a "I know who you really are" speech to him and during this time, he's drinking from a clear glass. He hands Booth the glass as he is walking around. Immediately after handing Booth the glass, you can see Hartley has another glass. Then takes the glass from booth shortly after. (00:17:03)
Factual error: The Black Watch sergeant major wears a crown over three chevrons, which was the correct rank badge for a company sergeant major until 1915. However, this is at least 1916 (as conscription has started and the men are wearing steel helmets, both introduced in 1916). CSMs had been redesignated as warrant officers in 1915 and now wore a crown on the lower sleeves instead.
Continuity mistake: An exterior view of the window in the building across the street that the Virtuoso plans on shooting from shows it is comprised of three square panes stacked vertically. When the Virtuoso is inside behind the window, it is one large vertical pane. (00:10:27)
Factual error: The scope Jim is using is completely wrong (yes I know he tested the wind using dirt) but as a U.S.M.C. Marksman his scope would have had mil-dots on both the horizontal and vertical bars. (00:04:24)
Continuity mistake: When watching the water retreat after Sisu falls, a view from behind the characters shows Noi sitting on Tuk Tuk. The very next cut shows Tong picking her up from the ground. (01:18:01)
Continuity mistake: When Jang and Tiger are talking at the poker game, Jang points a gun at Tiger and is the gun seen pressing against Tiger's forehead. In the next shot, the gun is suddenly a few inches away from Tiger's forehead. (00:18:40)
Factual error: The Channel 5 WNP Newscaster said, "it is now believed he [District Attorney Berdido] and his family were killed..." and running along the bottom of the screen was "4 confirmed dead in Fort Lauderdale gas explosion." This was a LIVE report showing two streams of water onto the house still burning inside. An investigation would barely, if at all, be started at this time and no-one would be "confirmed dead" this early. It would not even be known if anyone was home when the house exploded. Other mistake: Rebecca electrocuted the giant sand worm within 3' of the spaceship. After Lt Astrid arrives, some views show Rebecca out in the open, but the camera should have been obstructed by the spaceship because following front views still show Rebecca next to the spaceship. Also, at least part of the dead giant sand worm probably should have been visible at times but was not. (00:51:55 - 00:52:20)
Factual error: Dylan (Scott Eastwood) was in a jail cell yet had a bottle of prescription pills in his pocket. The pills would have been confiscated before he was put in the cell and administered to him on schedule by staff/nurse. (00:28:10)
Continuity mistake: During the opening credits, there's a doll popping out of a bag. A shot later, it's tucked inside the bag.
Other mistake: Hero drove his car through a line of armored men and crashed onto rocks along a cement wall. Two days later when he returned to his car with gasoline (where one of his bombs exploded by the car), there was smoke and dust blowing through the air all around yet views of his car showed it was perfectly clean - shiny black. Factual error: There was a lot of thunder and lightning before the lightning strike that set the barn on fire, but there was no obvious loud thunder AFTER the strike. Lightning can be seen BEFORE the sound of thunder (because lightning travels faster than sound). (00:03:25)
Continuity mistake: When two officers go to inform Ronald Whitlock (Bruce Willis) about his sons, Ronald shoots his pistol at the Black officer and hits him near his inner right eyebrow. (A large black spot can be seen between his eyebrows.) When the camera shows the dead officer, the black mark is gone and the bullet hole is on his forehead centered about 2" above his left eye. Other mistake: When the helicopter was flying toward and over Apex Island, the helicopter (as well as the similarly-sized box) was about 1/10 or 1/12 the width of the island. In the next view, from almost ground-level, the helicopter was about as wide as one pine tree. (00:10:30)
Continuity mistake: The height of the stack of magazines on the coffee table in front of John changes with the camera's view. Front views of John show a high stack of maybe 15 magazines. Side views of John show a much shorter stack of several magazines. (00:25:03 - 00:26:07)
Revealing mistake: It was "raining" when Francesca was driving toward the house, but her vehicle "moved out of the rain" before coming to a stop. Furthermore, when the camera returned to Francesca walking toward the house, it was not raining and the driveway did not look wet. (00:48:53)
Factual error: When pit bull Shadow was chasing Phoenix, the distances between them varied - even appearing to increase - but the pit bull should have been able to quickly close the gap and catch Phoenix. In general, an adult person (about 7 mph) cannot outrun a pit bull (25-30 mph). Also, unless Shadow was trained to stop pursuing Phoenix if she got over the fence, pit bulls are actually quite good at climbing fences. (00:02:38)
Continuity mistake: At the Internet Store, Spencer was told his house was "right outside" the service area, internet was not available, and a satellite would not work. At the Phone Store, Chad told Lynn and Zoe they were in the "dead zone." When Lynn answered Spencer's call by putting her head out the upstairs window, she said, "The service is great up here." Lynn and Zoe could listen to the news on their cell phone in the kitchen and Zoe read about asteroids just outside the front door. Internet worked? (00:04:53 - 00:28:00)
