Continuity mistake: In the barrel riding scene just after Kili is shot in the leg, Tauriel arrives carrying her bow in her left hand. In the next shot the bow is in her right hand: she nocks, draws, and shoots with her left hand. (00:50:20)
Factual error: At Liberace's funeral, when the priest concludes his prayer, the congregation responds, "And with your Spirit." This response has only been part of the English-language Catholic Mass since 2011. In 1987, the response would have been "And also with you."
Factual error: In a scene where the nightclub singer with the tropical fruit headwear is on stage, she is singing into a classic RCA 77D microphone which is correct for the period, but in a mistake often made in movies that are set in this era, the microphone is wrongly positioned. It is leaning toward the singer when in fact this type of mic is spoken to from the side, not the end. To work correctly it was always pointed away from the singer or placed in a vertical position for side pickup. (01:06:15)
Continuity mistake: When Dave is shot by Mindy while training, there are two bullet holes in his jacket when he has only been shot once at that point.
Character mistake: In the scene where Billy is called to the crime scene of Andrews' murder, Andrews' body is shown with a wound on his chest. Later in the movie though, Billy is questioning Todd Lancaster. Todd Lancaster says that he saw Andrews get shot in the head. (00:52:00 - 01:25:00)
Other mistake: One of the three girls swallows the wedding ring and later it's retrieved by pulling it out of her stomach, but earlier in the fight in the toilet when the boy's head came off, there were no pipes or tubes connecting the head to the stomach.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Stallone gets hit by the UFC fighter, he doesn't see the hit coming because he gets hit from his right side. Later on, when driving his girlfriend home from the restaurant, he is still blind in his right eye and doesn't see the car coming from the right. However, during the Grudge Match, he is suddenly blind in his left eye.
Suggested correction: Clearly, he is blind in that eye. His trainer instructs him to stand to the left and keep Kid in his line of vision with his right eye.
Factual error: David fills his car with gas and puts the gas cap back on, on the driver's side, but the Subaru Outback's gas cap is actually on the passenger side of his car. (00:14:50 - 00:24:50)
Continuity mistake: Right before Gray gets his cheekbone broken, he moves his tongue and grabs his nose mockingly. From the side angle he is not grabbing his nose.
Factual error: When Llewyn is driving back to NYC from Chicago, he passes a couple signs stating that Akron, OH, is at the next exit off the highway, on US Route 80. US 80 passes exclusively through the South, from Dallas to the Atlantic Ocean in Georgia, and doesn't even come remotely close to Ohio. (01:13:58)
Suggested correction: It's Interstate 80, which does pass through Ohio, not Route 80.
The mistake is correct. It's the US Route 80 sign which has black letters on the white shield. An I-80 sign would have white letters on a red and blue shield.
Other mistake: When Odd Thomas and Stormy are riding on his moped through town to stop the massacre they pass a car dealership. All of the letters on the dealership signs are reversed except for a large lighted awning sign that says "Welcome to quality." The normal and reversed signs appear at the same time in the same frame. Factual error: In this relatively low-budget but extremely well-produced 2013 science fiction film, a 6-man crew travels from Earth to Europa (one of the moons of Jupiter) to search for traces of life in the vast oceans beneath Europa's icy surface. One of the astronauts dies in-transit, leaving 5 crewmembers to complete the mission. When the large "Europa One" interplanetary spacecraft arrives at its destination, all 5 surviving crewmembers descend in a small landing craft to the moon's surface, leaving the Europa One spacecraft in orbit, totally unmanned. This is an inconceivable factual blunder. The narration plainly states that this mission picked up where manned lunar missions of the 1970s left off; so, many of the same protocols are in place. Just so, no manned space mission would ever abandon the primary space vehicle in orbit, placing the mission at risk by sending the entire crew down together in a landing party. At least two astronauts should have remained aboard the orbiting Europa One just in case the landing mission went sideways (as it does in this film).
Continuity mistake: When the group of girls first pulls up to the gas station and talk with Barney, the shadow cast by the sign is much longer than moments later when they leave. (00:11:15 - 00:12:50)
Character mistake: In Pitch Black they established the system they crashed in (M-344/G) had 3 stars. Jack stated it when the 2nd sunrise started, and the solar system model also had 3 stars. In this film when Boss Johns starts asking about M-344/G he says it is "a backwater system with 2 suns and 1 habitable planet."
Continuity mistake: When Romeo gives his hand to Juliet on the balcony before descending, he gives his right hand to Juliet. Immediately his left hand is shown in Juliet's, then his right hand is shown in hers again.
Visible crew/equipment: In the opening close up shot of the eye, you can see a reflector screen reflected in it. (00:04:10)
Continuity mistake: The Counselor's watchband during the long phone call about choices, fate, and grief with Jefe changes the direction in which it is latched several times throughout the scene. It is quite prominent because it is on the arm he is using to hold the phone. (01:35:00 - 01:40:00)
Continuity mistake: At the beginning, as Raimund is crossing the bridge in the rain, his umbrella turns inside out, but as it flies away to the river, it is not turned.
Factual error: When Braniac's robot probe enters the atmosphere over Arizona, fighter jets attempt to shoot it down by hitting it with missiles. The pod is still going fast enough to be on fire from reentry. A missile could not have caught up to an object going that fast. (00:11:30)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Percy is talking to Stephen, Thomas reverses down the track he has arrived on and stops. But when Percy leaves, Thomas has mysteriously disappeared. Also, the track Thomas was on ends at some buffers behind him and leads to the turntable in front of him, but that was set to Percy's line.
