Best fantasy movie trivia of 1999
Trivia: An explanation for why there is no salt acid booby-trap protecting the gold book like there was protecting the black book. In the missing scene some of Imhotep's priests burst through the floor/ground and attack Jonathan and Rick, who get tossed aside. The priests then open the gold book's hiding place and get burned all up by the salt acid. You can even see when Rick grabs the TNT that there is smoke rising from the hole.
Trivia: After Frankie tears up the apartment, possessed by the priest, she goes to the bed and levitates in a cruciform position. During this scene, there is a quick, sweeping shot of the wall and, if you watch it in slow motion, you can see a wall of boxes of Ritz crackers. This is either an obvious endorsement or some kind of inside joke.
Trivia: The story of this film is basically a retelling of the story of Beowulf and Grendel. Buliwyf is Beowulf, the Wendol are Grendel, King Hrothgar is of course himself. Ahmed Ibn Fahalan was added to lend the story historical credence as Ahmen Ibn Fahalan really did travel north from Baghdad and encountered Viking men.
