Best comedy movie mistakes of 1982
Revealing mistake: In the scene where Chuck finds Bill in the morgue vault listening to the recording of Chuck telling him to shut up, take note of Bill's thumb on the rewind button of the tape recorder. You can hear the tape recorder rewinding to replay the words, "Chuck to remind Bill to SHUT UP" multiple times but Bill's thumb does not move at all until he turns the recorder off.
Factual error: I work for a television channel in 'daytime serial' production and I can assure you that no actor is going to secure a recurring speaking role in a soap opera unless a comprehensive insurance policy has been secured. (This applies to feature films, too.) This will inevitably involve a medical examination. I'm afraid Mr Dorsey's plans are going to become dreadfully unstuck the minute he drops his y-fronts in the doctor's surgery. (No, he can't find a compliant or bribeable doctor - the insurance company will always use their own people.).
Audio problem: In the scene where Jack Brown (Richard Pryor) is talking to Eric about "Earning a friend" there is a problem with the lip-sync when the camera changes to an overshoulder of Richard. His mouth is moving but the spoken text is different. This occurs repeatedly during that scene.

Factual error: When Gary unscrews the top to the nozzle of the front tire of Karen's bike it automatically starts to make a loud hissing sound as if it's losing air rapidly. This wouldn't happen as although the tire would lose air over time it wouldn't make that loud hissing sound unless there was a rip or tear in the rubber.
Continuity mistake: When Kenny Rogers gets trapped in the rest room at the beginning of the film, he pulls the knob out from the door. When this happens, the knob is on the left side of the door from his point of view. After he climbs out the window, the door has changed to having the hinges on that side and the style of the door does not look like it has a knob at all. A rest room this size would only have one door, so it has to be the same door.
