Continuity mistake: When Bernie tries to hang himself in his bedroom by jumping off some suitcases he ties the rope around his neck. In the close-up he puts the rope behind his right ear and in front of his left ear. In the long shot however the rope is behind his left ear. In the close-up it's in front of his left ear again.

Audio problem: In the scene where Jack Brown (Richard Pryor) is talking to Eric about "Earning a friend" there is a problem with the lip-sync when the camera changes to an overshoulder of Richard. His mouth is moving but the spoken text is different. This occurs repeatedly during that scene.

Revealing mistake: In the scene where Captain von Trapp takes a Nazi flag and tears it in two pieces you can see him searching for the correct place to tear. If you look closely you will see that a small incision has been made already so it tears more easily.
