Chosen answer: When landing on an aircraft carrier, a pilot "calls the ball" by confirming to the landing signal officer (LSO) that they have the carrier, and more specifically its landing guidance systems in sight. Carriers use a Fresnel lens system which is a light only visible at a certain angle, so if a pilot sees the "ball" they are at the correct altitude and glide slope for landing.
Question: After just a few series Tommy's girlfriend Stacey left the show. Does anyone know why?
Answer: She left with her new boyfriend to go to a English college.
Question: Where did Kim get all of these gadgets?
Answer: From technogenius Wade. There's at least one scene in the show where she gets some new gadgets from him.
Past Tense - S1-E4
Question: What time does Tru work her shift at the morgue? In this episode, she was at work when Marco scared her from under the sheet. Then she was eating dinner with Harrison. What time did they eat? Wasn't it already late at night by then? Then she was back at work - I guess a dinner break makes sense for a nighttime shift - and she met Luc. The second time the day happened, she was at work when Marco tried to scare her. Then she was walking somewhere with Harrison and she hadn't met Luc. Was this after the same dinner she had with Harrison the first time? Was she still going to meet Luc later?
Chosen answer: The next episode shows that Tru didn't meet Luc after all, even though she should have been in work by the time he showed up. I think the answer is that the writers don't actually know.
Question: I've heard that the original name for this show wasn't "The Powerpuff Girls" and that the original name had to be censored. Anyone knows what was the original name of this show and why it was censored?
Answer: The original name of the show was "The Whoopass Girls", so called because their father accidentally spilled a can of whoopass into the sugar, spice, and everything nice. The reason that this was changed should be obvious. You'll never be able to sell a bunch of toys to children if these toys have the the word "whoopass" on the front.
Question: What is the true origin of the Constructicons? "Heavy Metal War" claims they were built on Earth by Megatron, but "The Secret of Omega Supreme" shows them already on Cybertron before the war on Earth began. Is this a legitimate mistake or is there a reason behind it?
Answer: This was actually one of many errors in Transformers, the Constructicons MUST have been built on Cybertron, the only transformers genuinely built on earth were the dinobots, reason being Vector Sigma has to give personalities to each and every robot, else they end up like the dinobots, very simple and dumb. For reference watch the episode "The Key to Vector Sigma" which introduces the Stunticons and Arielbots - both Megatron and Optimus Prime have to go to Vector Sigma to get decent personality traits installed, prior to this the new robots are controlled by remote controllers and have no AI.
Question: Can someone PLEASE explain the ending? The whole show was pretty confusing, particularly why everything disappeared at the end, why people lost their memories, etc.
Chosen answer: The show was originally planned to have a second season, but then it was dropped because of low ratings in Japan, thus the abrupt ending leaving everything unexplained and out in the open. Still, the show was so popular on TV in the US that The Cartoon Network decided to finance the production of the second season, which is right now coming out on DVD (I think the first three volumes are already out). This should end up tying everything nicely.
We Can See the Light! - S1-E41
Question: Why was Eggman controlling the moon in order to con people into buying the sunshine balls he invented? Was he doing it to get rich?
Answer: No, he doesn't need the money. He was doing it to try to paint himself as the hero. Make it look like only he could save the the light and painting Sonic as a villain for destroying it.
So what if Eggman doesn't need the money. There are tons of people who don't need more, but still try to get richer.
Question: In this episode, Jessie, ticked off that he had to pay the boy's bail, says that the mortgage payment has to be made to Jason Higgins. I thought that J.D. Hogg held the mortgage to the Duke farm. Has my memory got a hole in it?
Knight Rider [Pilot; a.k.a. Knight of the Phoenix] (1) - S1-E1
Question: At one point, after promising help, Michael parks, and goes to a pay phone to call Devon. As he gets to the booth, over his left shoulder, there is a badly altered Pepsi sign. Black tape has been put over the word 'PEPSI' in the familiar logo, and also over the "si" in the phrase 'say Pepsi please'. What type of mistake would this be?
Chosen answer: Before "product placement" became common, name-brand products were rarely, if ever seen in TV shows, mostly due to avoid advertising conflicts with program sponsors. The Pepsi logo may have been taped out to prevent any commercial infringements.
Are you kidding? Product placement was so rampant in the 50s that sometimes you'd wonder if you were watching a TV show or a paid ad.
Knight Rider wasn't produced in the 1950s. TV shows of that era had advertising more similar to the old radio shows from the 30s and 40s. The early 50s series often had a sole sponsor, so their product (and related items) was likely seen in a program. An announcer also informed the audience at the beginning that, "This program is brought to you by (insert brand name). " From the 60s on, brand-name products weren't generally seen in TV programs. Networks sold air time to multiple advertisers, and their ads were shown during the long commercial breaks. So no, I'm not kidding.
Answer: It wouldn't be a mistake. Anyone could have taped the sign for a number of reasons.
Question: How old is Asajj Ventress?
Answer: Her date of birth is unrevealed. What little is known is that she was found as a child (precise age unknown) by a Jedi who crashlanded on her homeworld of Rattatak somewhere around 40BBY (precise year unknown). Realising her Force potential, he took her as his Padawan and trained her for some years, only to be cut down by a local warlord before he could finish, leaving her to seek vengeance on the warlords who had conspired against him, precipitating her fall to the Dark Side. It's difficult to determine her precise age from all this, but if we assume that she was ten when she was found, and that was in 40BBY, then Asajj would be 28 at the outbreak of the Clone Wars. So figure on anywhere in a range a few years either side of that.
Question: I don't understand why Pullo is so angry with Vorenus and thinks he needs to apologise. Having fought in Caesar's army for as long as Pullo has he would be very well aware of the repercussions for what he did, why would he blame Vorenus for abiding the law and doing what is required of him as a centurion?
Answer: Its Pullo's nature to resent people of higher standing than him. His jealousy of Vorenus in later episodes, which in part leads to their falling out, is proof of that. From Pullo's point of view, Vorenus just got better breaks to get where he is in the army and so, isn't really his superior. That, plus his natural arrogance is explantion enough for his behaviour in spite of the fact that he broke the rules and was being fairly punished.
Question: How is Naruto able to easily create dozens of shadow clones when he needs to, but will sometimes struggle to create just a few.
Question: In all the Highlander movies and in this show, was there any reason given why immortals can't fight each other on holy ground?
Answer: In the episode "Little Tin God," Joe Dawson mentions a duel between immortals on a temple in Pompeii—just before Vesuvius erupted. Whether the two are supposed To Be connected is up for debate, but still.
Answer: Not directly. But there is a penalty involved. In Highlander 3 the fighting on holy ground resulted in the destruction of one of the weapons. In End Game several immortals are murdered whilst on holy ground but no repercussions were ever revealed, so it's possible it is specifically about the fighting. Nobody knows what happens when an immortal is killed in a duel on holy ground but it's safe to assume the penalty will be severe because all immortals respect this rule, even the most evil ones (except that one moment in Highlander 3).

Question: Towards the end of this episode the squad car has to double park so Regan can use a phone box, as Regan gets out of the car a van has to drive round the squad car and the driver sounds the horn, Regan gesticulates and shouts "up yours" at the van driver. I wonder if this was scripted or was a random moment and John Thaw was ad-libbing?

Initiation - S3-E1
Question: In this show, Green Lantern is a black guy with a different name. What happened to Hal Jordan and why is he not Green Lantern any more?
Chosen answer: In this series, Hal Jordan never became Green Lantern. Kyle Rayner did instead. John Stewart is Rayner's partner and serves as Green Lantern in the Justice League.
Question: Given his origin, was Tim Drake really Jason Todd, just given the third Robin's name?
Answer: Tim Drake's origin in the DC Animated Universe differs significantly from his origin in the comics, but it also differs greatly from Jason Todd's. This version of the character is unique to this universe, similar to many of the other supporting characters with origin stories that range from being nearly identical to the comics to being entirely different from the comics.
Chosen answer: Terrorsaur was probably removed because his character was far overshadowed by Tarantulas. Both characters were treacherous and backstabbing towards Megatron, but it wouldn't have made sense to have two characters who served the same purpose, story-wise. Scorponok was removed because they wanted to introduce Quickstrike, and it wouldn't have made sense to have two scorpion characters on the show.
