The Final Destination picture

Character mistake: In the part after the premonition when everyone runs out of the speedway, Cynthia Daniels yells "Andy" to her husband, when her husband's name is Carter.

Suggested correction: Cynthia isn't the one saying it. Nadia, Andy's girlfriend, is calling after Andy as she follows him out. If you listen closely she actually calls after him more than once, beginning before Carter even starts to follow them out.

Scream 2 picture

Character mistake: During the scene in which they are all arguing whether or not film sequels are better than the original or not, someone says Sigourney Weaver's classic line from the movie Aliens: "Get away from her you bitch", and Randy makes a smart comeback and tries to correct him by saying "I think the correct line was 'stay away from her you bitch'. This is a film class, right?" Wrong - the first guy was right. This line is truly unconvincing for the Randy character, being a big movie buff and all. Jamie Kennedy decided to improvise as Joshua Jackson actually made the initial mistake by saying the wrong line, causing a different mistake. (00:16:25)

The X-Files Movie picture

Character mistake: Mulder and Scully sneak into the morgue at Bethesda Naval Hospital to view the body of the dead fireman from the bomb blast. Mulder lifts the sheet back on the body to show that the man's tissue is "like jelly." Scully surmises there's been some kind of cellular breakdown, and then says the tissue is "completely edematous." However, Dr. Scully mispronounces "edematous" as ed-a-may-shuss. The correct pronunciation is i-dem-a-tuss. Being a doctor she'd know the difference. (00:37:45)

Omen III: The Final Conflict picture

Character mistake: Since the Book of Revelation ends with Satan being defeated, Damien and his followers should be aware of this. That's why it makes no sense that they keep quoting from Revelation since it ends up spelling their demise (it does not predict that the Anti-Christ will destroy the earth as they keep claiming).

Rosemary's Baby picture

Character mistake: After Rosemary has the baby and they tell her it died, she calls them liars. They give her an injection and she passes out. When Guy comes back, he says that the Doctor says she was suffering from prepartum (not an actual word) symptoms. It would actually be postpartum.

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: Actually, it depends on which time her 'crazies' were from. If Guy was referring to how she acted while still pregnant, then pre-partum would be correct. If referring to her tantrums after the birth, then it would be post-partum.

The post starts. " After Rosemary has the baby...".

The Open House picture

Character mistake: When Logan tries to use both his and his mom's phones after her fingers were broken by the Man in Black, he throws them in disgust when he finds the SIM cards have been removed. However, every cell is capable of placing a 911 call regardless of whether a SIM card is present or not.

Cabin Fever picture

Character mistake: Paul tells Marcy he's leaving her to go look for Jeff. But soon afterwards, when Paul hears Marcy's dying screams, he runs back to the cabin from exact opposite direction to the one Jeff went when he ran off into the woods. Paul watched Jeff leave, so he would've known what direction he should've been searching in. (01:05:50 - 01:11:10)

Scream picture

Character mistake: Sid deduces that Billy could be the killer because he could have used his phone call from jail to make the threatening call. However, the deduction has to be incorrect, since if it was really Billy, he could have never used the voice-changing device.

Suggested correction: This will sound pedantic (hey, it's MovieMistakes.com, we're entitled), but I don't think this is what is meant by a character mistake. Sidney isn't presenting an erroneous fact that goes uncorrected, she's explaining an idea that had crossed her mind. Billy immediately gives a plausible response and by the end of the film it's evident who'd called her. The takeaway isn't that Billy could still be the killer but that Sidney can't help but suspect him despite their reconciliation.

Dismissed picture

Character mistake: It is highly unlikely that the recipient of Mr. Butler's application for the professorship position would not only call him so soon, but ask him to come to her office right away (where she would humiliate him for the things he wrote in his essay on "qualities that make me a good teacher"). Moreover, her failure to listen to Mr. Butler and give due consideration to his assertion that someone else actually wrote those offensive things showed poor judgment, especially since she knew the person who referred Mr. Butler and spoke highly of him. Someone tampering with his application would make more sense than believing that Mr. Butler actually wrote those things that criticized the very college he was applying to and boasted so much about himself. That Mr. Butler was not able to say more to make his point believable is also problematic. He is an English teacher, so should have the vocabulary and mastering of techniques to make a convincing argument, but he failed to defend himself.

Pitch Black picture

Character mistake: When Carolyn first addresses Imam, she quite obviously pronounces his name "ell-mom," as though the capital I in his title were a lower-case L. It should be pronounced "ee-mam". We distinctly hear Ali call out his name in this fashion after the ship crash lands on the planet.

Character mistake: After Ben tells his story about his first encounter with the ghouls, Barbara begins her story. She talks about the ghoul Johnny was joking about. She tells Ben that she wanted to apologize. She states, "I said good evening, and he grabbed me." If you go back to that original scene, you'll never hear her say "Good evening." (00:29:40)

Character mistake: At the Gazette office, as Ms. Rees-Jones watches, Steven scrolls up the next front page of the Gazette on his PC and under the photo of Chuck Hughes it reads, "...dead at age 37." However, when Frank gets into his car after being kicked out of the cemetery, under the current Gazette headline it reads, "30 yr. old Chuck Hughes who died of a mysterious heart ailment..." I Am Legend picture

Character mistake: When LT. Col. Robert Neville's wife fails the eye scan and he's ordering the soldiers to scan her again, the soldier that escorts them to the scan point, and later to the helicopter mistakenly uses Will Smith's real last name. You can faintly here him identifying LT. Col. Robert Neville to another soldier as LT. Col. Robert Smith.
