Stupidity: Sir Topham Hatt is cross with both Percy and James. But why is James being blamed? He had no idea that Sir Topham Hatt didn't actually say that he had to stay in the shed and wait for him. James shouldn't have been blamed since he had thought Sir Topham Hatt actually said that and Percy should've been the only one blamed.
Continuity mistake: Despite Henry's issue from "Coal" in Season 1 being resolved after the crash in "The Flying Kipper", also in Season 1, Henry needed special coal again from "Thomas and the Magic Railroad" until Season 16.

Answer: Ropes and a winch.
Answer: Butch the breakdown truck must have pulled Gordon's tender all the way up the rails so the breakdown train can reach it and also Butch helped to get Gordon close to the winch.
