Continuity mistake: In the opening shot, the camera is closing in on Hyrule Castle. The crescent moon is large and visible behind the castle. It then cuts to a closer view of one of the towers and suddenly the moon is a slightly different shape, and it appears to be a little smaller. (00:00:50)
Revealing mistake: In the beginning of the episode, King Harkinian and Link walk out onto the castle walls. Neither one cast a shadow. Yes it is at night, but there are lights around and other objects like stairs and walls are seen casting shadows. (00:00:55)
Audio problem: Right in the beginning, King Harkinian is walking about at night on the wall of his castle. He comments about the night air and how there is nothing like a good meal. During the last half of that, the shot changes to a side view as he walks to the edge and stops. His lips are not moving until he stops and you can see them move when he says the word Meal. (00:01:00)
Continuity mistake: When Link comes out on the balcony and looks down to see Zelda reading, there is a window behind Zelda's head. There are some vines growing up the side of the castle wall towards that window, but in this shot, they are not totally there yet. A few moments later when Link is about to swing in through a different window, that same window is shown again, but this time the vines are very heavy around the base of the window. Then when King Harkinian pats Link on the back real hard and causes him to swing before he is ready, the window is shown again and now the vines are less around the window, but still different from the first time. Continuity mistake: Link walks out shortly after King Harkinian says his first lines of the episode and talks about how he is still not sure why he is living in the castle. He walks to the edge and sees Zelda and says he is trying to adapt. When he first walks up, he goes to the center of a circular ledge with a wall, and there is an empty plant spot to his left. It cuts to show Zelda in her room reading then back to him saying he is trying to adapt. Suddenly he is much closer to the plant holder near the edge of the circle ledge, and now there is a plant in it. (00:01:15)
Continuity mistake: Link is holding onto a rope and about to swing into Zelda's window. The angle from behind Link shows him holding the rope up high with both hands close together. It then cuts to a front angle as King Harkinian walks up behind him and Link's hands are suddenly spread far apart along the rope, one high by his head, the other lower to his belly. (00:01:50)
Continuity mistake: When Link is about to swing in through the window of the tower Zelda is in, there is a blue table next to her cot. But in an earlier shot where Link first sees her through the window, the table is not there. It is not the angle, as it is close enough to her cot in the second shot that it should have been visible in the first. (00:01:55)
Continuity mistake: When Link hooks a rope to the top of a tower so he can swing in Zelda's room, her father King Harkinian walks up behind him and suggest he take flowers if he wants a kiss. As the King is moving around, during the same shot even, the jewel on his crown keeps fluctuating in size and even move around a little. (00:01:55)
Continuity mistake: When Link explains to King Harkinian that he is going to swing into his daughter's window to get her to kiss him, the King tells him he should take flowers. He picks 3 flowers from a nearby flower arrangement. But the 3 flowers he ends up with are much larger than any of the flowers that were in the arrangement. (00:02:05)
Continuity mistake: After the King gives Link some flowers to help him get Zelda to kiss him, the King wishes him luck and slaps him on the back. This causes Link to lose his balance and fall to swing before he was ready. He shouts and holds out the flowers with his right arm as he falls. The next shot shows him swinging towards Zelda's window, but suddenly both hands are on the rope and the flowers have vanished. Then it cuts again to him swinging though the window and his right arm is extended again holding the flowers. (00:02:15)
Continuity mistake: When the King first hands the flowers to Link, the detail on them is not drawn out very much. The peddles and center look like almost one solid pink piece. But a couple shots later, and being from the exact same angle and distance, the details on the flowers as Link holds them is suddenly much clearer. Individual peddles are visible, and the centers are more pronounced. (00:02:15)
Continuity mistake: When Link is looking down at Zelda, her larger window is separated into two parts by a column between them. When Link swings in and it shows an interior view of that window, the column is suddenly skinnier. The window itself is also smaller. (00:02:15)
Continuity mistake: As Link is talking to King Harkinian about giving Zelda flowers so she would kiss him, shots of Zelda through the window show a blue table behind her cot. There is a brown book on it beside a light blue vase. It is slightly difficult to tell, but by judging the thickness of the book, there is only one book there. But when Link swings in and lands on the table, just before the book flies away, you can see it is actually two books stacked on top of each other, and the height of them together is much higher than when seen previously. (00:02:20)
Continuity mistake: After Link crashes down on Zelda's table, he is lying flat and the window he just came through is right there beside him. But when Zelda leans in during a close up to try and give Link a kiss, it is suddenly just solid wall on that same side of Link. (00:02:40)
Continuity mistake: Link and Zelda rush to her window after hearing the King scream and see Ganon flying in on his stolen unicorn Pegasus with seven of his minion bats accompanying him. Between shots, the formation the bats are flying in changes. (00:02:50)
Continuity mistake: When Link swings into Zelda's room, there is a lamp on her window ledge. But when Link throws the broken table at the window to make the diving board, the lamp has vanished. (00:03:00)
Continuity mistake: After Link and Zelda hear King Harkinian scream when Ganon attacks, Link throws a broken table at the window and then a dresser to weigh it down to make a diving board. When the dresser is put on it, the board is angled up at 45 degrees and stuck that way. But then Link runs at it and suddenly the board is perfectly horizontal level, even with one side supposedly pinned to the floor by the dresser. (00:03:05)
Revealing mistake: As it first shows Ganon on his horse with a rope around the king, look closely at his leg. For the first second or two, it is disconnected from his thigh and below the horse's wing. It then suddenly jumps up to where it's supposed to be. (00:03:10)
Revealing mistake: Ganon gets a rope around King Harkinian and is sitting on his Pegasus Unicorn. In a few frames as the King and rope move around, you can see the rope pass right through the Pegasus' wing. (00:03:15)
Continuity mistake: While Ganon has the King tied up, the rope is on the outside of the Unicorn's wing that he is sitting on. But once Link gets up on the level with him, the rope is suddenly behind the Unicorn's wing. (00:03:20)
Chosen answer: It'll be to ensure that they're always facing directly away from each other, 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock, meaning between the two of them they've pretty much got 360 degree coverage. Otherwise there's a chance they might end up at say 12 o'clock and 3 o'clock, leaving themselves exposed from another direction.
