Tintin and the Picaros: Part 1 - S2-E8

Revealing mistake: Just after Tintin says "The last I heard he was hiding in the jungle trying to organize the resistance", a shot is shown of the plane window flying over the clouds with a shadow on the clouds. The plane flies over a cloud with part of it missing and for one frame only, the shadow is seen going over the part of the cloud that was missing. (00:05:40)

Tintin and the Picaros: Part 1 - S2-E8

Revealing mistake: After Tintin, Haddock and Calculus meet Colonel Alvarez, they are seen driving through downtown in a car. Watch the people, buildings and posters on the sidewalk. Each time the shot cuts, it is always the exact same people. Exact same buildings. And exact same posters on the sidewalk. Also, as Calculus starts talking, the same thing has been done again, except the background is different. (00:07:05)

Other mistake: After Manolo has told Haddock that the windows don't open, Manolo goes to leave and slips on a banana placed in the doorway. The banana's position in the doorway would not be possible. The banana landed on the floor after Haddock fell over the table in the hotel room and spilled the contents of the fruit bowl all of the room and then Manolo entered the room a second later. When Manolo opened the door, he would have pushed anything in front of the door out of the way. (00:10:25)

Continuity mistake: Whilst Tintin and Haddock are discussing how to escape the hotel, a record player is playing so no-one who is watching the conversation can hear them. When Pablo arrives with the drinks and sets them on the table, the record player is visible in the background and not moving, though the music is still heard. Pablo then goes to turn up the music, and the record player is suddenly moving again. (00:12:40)

Tintin and the Picaros: Part 2 - S2-E9

Other mistake: A monkey throws a bottle of whiskey from a tree which then lands on Haddock's head. When they show the bottle on Haddock's head, the bottle is shown stuck to his head, but there is nothing there actually making the bottle stick. (00:25:35)

Tintin and the Picaros: Part 2 - S2-E9

Plot hole: When the helicopter flies over the jungle, Haddock inadvertently walks in view of the helicopter and the pilot of the helicopter notices him, assuming it to be a Picaro. Haddock then trips into the river, but despite being watched by the pilot of the helicopter the entire time, the helicopter pilot doesn't notice him falling into the river and instead assumes he just disappeared. Tintin and the Picaros: Part 2 - S2-E9

Revealing mistake: When Haddock walks in view of the helicopter pilot, it cuts to an interior shot of the helicopter where the pilot says "What's that? A Picaro by the river?" A couple of shots after this, there is another interior shot of the helicopter where the pilot then says "Caramba. He's disappeared." In both of the two interior shots, it is noticeable that the same footage has been used in both the shots as the exact same land is outside the helicopter is in both of the shots. The only difference in the second shot is that Haddock has been removed. (00:26:20)

Other mistake: When Haddock is in the lake, he is sinking, struggling to stay above the water and the water is even going up to his neck area. The Crab with the Golden Claws: Part 2 - S1-E2

Trivia: There is a mistake pointing out that the newspaper at the end is a flipped shot. If you flip it the right way round, you will see on the right hand side of the article the word "Spielberg" on one of the lines, a reference to director Steven Spielberg. Steven Spielberg went on to direct the Tintin movie Secret of the Unicorn in 2011. (00:43:35)

King Ottokar's Sceptre: Part 2 - S2-E5

Question: When Tintin and the King discover King Ottokar's scepter had been stolen, both Hector and the guards are shown to have been knocked out. Later, Tintin points out that Hector had stolen the scepter by placing it in a camera, put it next to the window and shot it out of the window using the camera. If that's how Hector managed to get the scepter out of the building, then what was it that caused Hector and the guards to get knocked out? (00:33:10 - 00:35:50)

Chosen answer: If Hector was seriously intent on removing King Ottokar's scepter from the glass cage holding it and launching it through the window with the camera, then Hector would have been forced to knock out the two guards so they would not have interfered with Hector's plan as soon as he removed the scepter from the glass. As for Hector, himself, was explained when Tintin was explaining how Hector stole the scepter. Tintin placed a twig inside the camera and it launched out of the camera. Hector would have placed the scepter inside of the camera, and would have been knocked unconscious due to the spring effect created when the scepter had been launched.
