Best TV mistakes of 1991
Continuity mistake: When Ritchie, Eddie, Spudgun and Dave Hedgehog enter the pub with the fake money and order drinks, Ritchie asks for Absinthe but is told that the pub doesn't have any and is given Pernod instead. Later, when the £5000 pub quiz poster is pointed out, Ritchie says he's had half a pint of Absinthe and can't see anything. Where did the Absinthe come from if the pub didn't have any earlier in the episode and they never left?
Revealing mistake: In the parking lot shot, one patron of the Leisure Center warns an arriving patron that Brittas is back, prompting the arriving person to reverse their car out of the parking space. However, note the arriving patron's hands - his car was already in reverse before he was spoken to.
Plot hole: Doug recalls previous years (in a flashback, where he was next to Skeeter at the window of the Honker Burger as they looked outside) of seeing the Hamburger Boy when Mr. Dink is confessing that he *was* Hamburger Boy. However, Doug has only been living in Bluffington for one year - this was his first summer there.
Factual error: Carol and Frank leave for a romantic weekend and Dana begins to tutor Rich for a test in English Literature. When Frank and Carol return on Sunday Rich has not only studied for the test but also TAKEN the test and gotten the results back. How is that possible over a weekend?
Character mistake: It is mentioned several times that the Larkins' holiday to France takes place in August. Whilst on the beach, Ma Larkin says that Mariette and Charlie's first wedding anniversary is the following week. However, it is established in the previous two part episode, 'When the Green Woods Laugh', that their wedding date is the seventh of July, the same date that Pop has to appear in court.
Revealing mistake: The scene where Macduff, Johnson and Diesel are happy because they found Macduff's "button" medal of bravery, watch when diesel jumps up and down. You can the actor's black shoes he is wearing. This also happens throughout other parts of this episode.
