Continuity mistake: In the opening sequence, after the postman opens the pillar box door to release Bill after she has got her skirt caught in it, he walks back towards his red van out of shot. The van drives off before he has had enough time to get himself and his post sacks in.

Continuity mistake: After Ben has got out of the car he is carrying a brown suitcase and three carrier bags with his right hand and a black bag with his left hand, but when he walks through the front door he only has the brown suitcase in his right hand, and the black bag and only one carrier bag in his left hand.

Continuity mistake: When the Porters arrive home, Bill gets out of the car and tilts the front passenger seat so Jenny and Rona can get out of the back seat. When the shot changes to the other side of the car when Ben is getting the bags out, the passenger seat is upright.

Continuity mistake: On the military firing range, Jenny is wearing a striped top and a leather jacket, but when she gets out of the car when they arrive home she is wearing a plain black top and a blue jacket, while the others are wearing the same clothes.

Continuity mistake: In the opening sequence when Bill is dreaming about the Christmas dinner, the red candle and bottle of wine on the table in front of Ben change position between shots.

Other mistake: Ben's van has the name of BH Porter Heating Repairs with phone number on both sides and the back door, however in the opening credits it does not appear on the back door.
