Revealing mistake: When Haddock walks in view of the helicopter pilot, it cuts to an interior shot of the helicopter where the pilot says "What's that? A Picaro by the river?" A couple of shots after this, there is another interior shot of the helicopter where the pilot then says "Caramba. He's disappeared." In both of the two interior shots, it is noticeable that the same footage has been used in both the shots as the exact same land is outside the helicopter is in both of the shots. The only difference in the second shot is that Haddock has been removed.
Plot hole: When the helicopter flies over the jungle, Haddock inadvertently walks in view of the helicopter and the pilot of the helicopter notices him, assuming it to be a Picaro. Haddock then trips into the river, but despite being watched by the pilot of the helicopter the entire time, the helicopter pilot doesn't notice him falling into the river and instead assumes he just disappeared.
Continuity mistake: When Haddock is in the lake, he is sinking, struggling to stay above the water and the water is even going up to his neck area. Tintin then goes into the lake to fetch Haddock and then stands in the exact same area where Haddock is up to his neck in the water, but the water only goes as far as Tintin's knees.
Audio problem: The drunk camp members are firing their guns and the gun shots are heard. Smoke is exiting some of the guns, implying that that particular gun has been fired, but no sound effect is heard going with along with that particular gunshot.
Other mistake: A monkey throws a bottle of whiskey from a tree which then lands on Haddock's head. When they show the bottle on Haddock's head, the bottle is shown stuck to his head, but there is nothing there actually making the bottle stick.
Continuity mistake: When Tintin tells General Alcazar that he knows a way for the Picaros to stop drinking, Alcazar is washing dishes. He is holding a plate in his right hand when he turns to Tintin. The shot then cuts to a shot of Alcazar, where the plate is now in his left hand.
Continuity mistake: Tintin, Haddock and Alcazar along with the Picaros enter the presidential palace and make their way up the stairs. The scene then cuts to the balcony, where General Tapioca and Colonel Sponz are shown standing there. In the next shot, Colonel Alvarez has suddenly appeared on the balcony.
