What Happened to Frederick - S1-E13

Deliberate mistake: When August takes Emma to the Wishing Well, the well is not in the same location as later in the series. When Emma and August are at the well, it is situated next to the road (August takes her there on his motorcycle), with a giant tree in the background. In in 1-22 "A Land Without Magic", and every other episode where the well appears, in is situated in a clearing in the middle of the forest. (00:22:35)

What Happened to Frederick - S1-E13

Revealing mistake: When Regina finds Henry with Emma at his playground In "Fruit of the Poisonous Tree", her license plate number is 40F5 TH. When the gym teacher finds Kathryn's car in this episode, his car has the same license plate, indicating that it is a reused prop. The same license plate appears on yet another car when August drives off with his motorcycle in "The Return", on Archie Hopper's car when he tries to cross the town line in "We Are Both", and on a parked car when Emma and the others arrive in Storybrooke in "Mother." Dreamy - S1-E14

Dreamy - S1-E14

Dreamy - S1-E14

Character mistake: In the evening, Emma states that Kathryn Nolan has been missing for 24 hours, meaning that this episode takes place the day after Kathryn disappeared. When Emma investigates Kathryn's car, David tells Emma that he last spoke to Kathryn "yesterday afternoon" (and stresses that he is telling the truth), and that he hasn't spoken to her since he ended their relationship. However, "What Happened to Frederick" establishes that David broke up with Kathryn the day before she tried to leave town and disappeared, because when Kathryn apologized to Regina, Regina referred to the events surrounding the break-up as "what happened yesterday." Emma checks Kathryn's phone records and finds out that Kathryn talked to David on the phone the day she disappeared, but David could not have referred to that conversation, since "Red-Handed" and "Heart of Darkness" both establish that he doesn't remember the phone call because of a memory blackout. Making matters even more complicated is that when Sidney shows up with the phone records, Emma specifically says to him that David told her that he DIDN'T speak to Kathryn that day, which, in fact, he said he did. Dreamy - S1-E14

Factual error: In "What Happened to Frederick", Kathryn learns about David's affair and confronts Mary Margaret at school (after taking her anger out on Regina), where students and teachers are milling about. Later, she apologizes to Regina for "what happened yesterday", whereas Emma, earlier that day, seeks out Henry at school. Kathryn leaves Storybrooke the same day, and mysteriously disappears. According to Kathryn's phone records in this episode, she disappeared on a Sunday. However, the day she left, and the day before, was a school day. In the U.S., school classes are not in session during weekends. (00:38:25)

Dreamy - S1-E14

Continuity mistake: In "The Shepherd", Kathryn is showing David their house, and you can see that the street number on the Nolans' house is 244. In this episode, when Emma is looking at Kathryn's phone records in the evening, the phone records list her address as number 4. (00:38:25)

Red-Handed - S1-E15

Continuity mistake: When David is interviewed at the sheriff's station, after Emma says "And honestly, liars have better material", her left thumb is resting on the edge of the coffee cup in her hand. In the next shot, it's not. (00:01:20)

Heart of Darkness - S1-E16

Revealing mistake: At the end of the episode, when Emma goes to Gold to ask for his help, we can see he's wearing a wedding ring on his left hand in addition to the usual ring with the light blue stone he wears on the right. That's actually Robert Carlyle's own wedding ring; as he wrote during a twitter Q&A session, he forgot to take it off before they started to film. (00:40:35)

Hat Trick - S1-E17

Continuity mistake: When Emma wakes up on Jefferson's couch, her left tank top strap changes position between shots: First, it's at the edge of her shoulder. When she sits up, it's off her shoulder. In the next shot, it's on top of her shoulder, before moving back to the edge of her shoulder in the following shot. A couple of shots later, it's at the top of her shoulder, even though her hands are tied behind her back, and she could not have moved it. (00:10:20)

Hat Trick - S1-E17

Continuity mistake: When the Mad Hatter and The Evil Queen are in the portal of doors, on the left side of the mirror, there's a door with green curtains. The design of the curtains changes between wide shots and the shot where they enter Wonderland. Most notably, in the wide shots, the curtains have brown edges, but when they are standing in front of the mirror, the edges are green. (00:15:55)

Lacey - S2-E19

Mr. Gold: She now thinks she's a scantily clad barfly named Lacey. She has a false life, like you did under the curse with Kathryn, only hers apparently involves a lot more alcohol.
