Best TV mistakes of 2011
Visible crew/equipment: When the horse carriage is ambushed, just as Princess Abigail can be heard screaming "Please, help me", the camera pans downward and a horse wrangler wearing a blue baseball cap can be seen in the lower left hand corner, hiding behind one of the horses.
Continuity mistake: When Megan is running late to pick up her daughter and friends from a sleepover, she arrives in the medical examiner car with Peter. The girls walk towards the car. Megan then gets out and introduces herself to the friends. The girls dump their bags on the ground and the two friends go to get in the car. Her daughter stands by the bags and asks 'who are you?!' to Peter. He explains who he is and that he works with her mum. - however in a previous episode her daughter goes to her work place and interviews all the staff, including Peter.
Visible crew/equipment: In the scene where Lana Winters imagines receiving an award for her expose while in line for her medication, her mic pack is visible as she steps up to accept it. It is not visible in the high angle long shot before she gives her speech.
Continuity mistake: At the waterfall, after jumping off the cliff and into the water, Skye leads Josh to the rock carvings. Josh's wet hair keeps changing position from being completely slicked back, to partially covering his forehead, to being completely forward over his brow.
Character mistake: Tom Mason makes references to smaller armies defeating larger ones, of which history is rife with examples. He cites the Scottish defeating 'the British' at the Battle of Stirling Bridge. 'The British' did not exist at that time. The Scots administered a beating against the English in the Scottish War of Independence, against the Earl of Surrey, under Edward I. Someone with his level of knowledge would know that.
Factual error: The assassin sent to kill Captain Renard carries a French passport which lists his place of birth as "Marseilles". This is an old-fashioned spelling of the name now almost only seen in North America. The French spelling is and always has been "Marseille".
Factual error: When Lucrezia is lying in bed suffering from swamp fever, probably malaria, she blames a mosquito for the disease. But she could not have known this; the discovery of the transmission of malaria by mosquitoes was not made until the late 19th century. The prevailing theory of disease transmission at the time was via miasma, or bad air.
Factual error: John fires a grenade launcher at a street gang hangout bar front window. Aside from the fact that such a round would hardly have been slowed enough to just roll down the bar, the round is shown complete with cartridge case, which would remain behind in the launcher/gun - it doesn't fly with the round.

Revealing mistake: When Cathy and Gaston return to the house to find Betty, Father Damien and Annette Curtain high from the chocolate brownies, she asks where Mrs. Brown is and she tells Cathy that she is upstairs wandering around since she is high. Cathy then tells her to come back downstairs and Mrs. Brown replies a few seconds later saying she is coming back down and flies down the stairs in the chair lift. Before Mrs. Brown comes back down, she can actually be seen sitting in the chair lift at the top of the staircase, from the moment where she tells Cathy she is upstairs to the moment where she says she is coming, waiting for the cue to come downstairs.

Revealing mistake: When the students see themselves in the TV, (which meant that Skidmore was watching them because Chyna had given her a hidden camera) you can see in the TV that there is actually a green screen on the screen and the video is not actually playing, it was just edited in later.
Other mistake: Chris gets on the zip line and hooks up. Martin just stands behind him, not hooked up to the zip line. Chris zooms off down the line chasing the hummingbird. A few seconds later, Martin is suddenly on the zip line also and right behind Chris.

Continuity mistake: When Monica and Frank are driving in the car with Liam, the Crawford Power Plant can be seen just behind the car. At this point, they have crossed the Stevenson Expressway and they are heading south down Pulaski. However, in the scene where they stop the car and argue, as Monica drives away, the Crawford Power Plant can be seen on the left, right ahead of them.
Continuity mistake: When the camera crew turn up to film a segment for BBC news, Warwick says that Anthony might freeze up in front of the 'cameras' and is told "It's only one camera". But when Warwick is watching it back on TV there are multiple shots of Warwick & Anthony, and the interviewer.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Walter Sherman is talking to US Deputy Marshal Isabel Zambada about Willow Monday and Timo Proud not being cousins, Walter is burning a barbie doll and the hair burns and falls off. In the next shot the doll has hair again.
Continuity mistake: The recording of Bridget on the boat that Agent Machado plays is slightly different each time we hear it. The first time it says "Hello? Hello? It's my sister, can anyone hear me?" The second time, she only says "Hello?" once.
