Continuity mistake: When Solomon draws the Ancient Tome spell card from his deck, his middle finger and index finger are touching the backside. Then there is a close-up of the card, where his middle finger is not touching it. The shot cuts again, and his middle finger is suddenly touching the card. (00:03:26)

Continuity mistake: When Ancient Tome is leaving the field, Solomon lowers his hand when he turns around to see the tome collapsing. Then it cuts to a shot focusing on Solomon where his left hand is suddenly raised. But in the following shot after that, his left hand is lowered again. (00:18:28)

Character mistake: Yugi mistakenly says if he doesn't get a monster out to defend himself Mai can attack him directly, which wouldn't be possible since the rules of Duel Monsters during the Duelist Kingdom arc forbade direct attacks on defenseless opponents. That rule wouldn't be implemented until the Battle City arc.
