Two Birds of a Feather - S3-E19

Factual error: When Sam climbs on the plane to give chase to the baddies, the tail number is N64CE. When he takes off though, the control tower announces the clearance for "Sixty-four Charlie Lima." Should have been Charlie Echo. (00:41:35 - 00:42:30)

Two Birds of a Feather - S3-E19

Factual error: No matter how good of a pilot Samuel is, he's chasing a Learjet 24 plane with a WWII design P-51 Mustang (that he does not even know how to start, but of course fictional pilots can just 'wing it' and do amazingly). Assuming that speed is not a factor since the bad guy is not flying at top speed just yet (but still he has a projected arrival time of 6 hours, meaning he'd fly around 700 kmh), they do the chase at high altitude (42,000 feet are mentioned), with Samuel not wearing a mask or anything in a non-pressurized plane! He'd have passed out.

Two Birds of a Feather - S3-E19

Continuity mistake: The jet plane the bad guys are taking off in keeps changing registration number. Before Sam's heli lands, it's N94J, when Sam watches it take off it's 33BK, when it asks for authorization to change course it is N464CL. Its flag also goes from US to Mexico to US again. (00:40:40)

Two Birds of a Feather - S3-E19

Factual error: Sam crashes the plane running out of gas, but just barely. His boss and the client are mad at him, but he actually worked some miracle, since from Van Nuys to Honolulu there's a distance of over 2,200 nautical miles, and even considering additional fuel tanks, that is over 3 times the range of the Cessna 172 plane he was flying, also considering it had headwind throughout the voyage (it's even a plot point).

Two Birds of a Feather - S3-E19

Continuity mistake: After landing in Waco, Samuel hugs his mom. The propeller of the plane gets in frame, and its blades are angled with the right one towards the ground. Later Sam puts his slick moves on his ex wife, and when they pass by the plane the blades are horizontal. (00:25:30 - 00:31:10)

Two Birds of a Feather - S3-E19

Revealing mistake: Sam arrives back home and he's greeted by his happy son and dog that run towards him...only, you can see at the bottom of the frame that the dog swerves to avoid him, to go to his handler, and couldn't care less about him. (00:22:50)

Two Birds of a Feather - S3-E19

Continuity mistake: When the plane crash-lands in the tidal pool, it crashes with one wing and tumbles to the other side of the rocks, flopping on its belly. When Magnum dives in to the rescue, the plane has capsized and its tail is on Magnum's end of the rocks. (00:09:20)

Two Birds of a Feather - S3-E19

Factual error: In his 'Nam flashback at the beginning, Magnum has (another) fun encounter with a large macaw. Green macaws (or any macaw for that matter) are not something he would have found in a Vietnam war mission, unless he inadvertently crossed the Pacific Ocean and ended up in South America. Legacy from a Friend - S3-E18

Character mistake: In the opening narration, Magnum says "Take my good friend Marcus, for example. I woke up one day and realised I was 32 and I'd never had a chance to be 22." In the second part of the very pilot of the series, Magnum says to Alice "One day I woke up age 33 and realised I'd never been 23."

Legacy from a Friend - S3-E18

Plot hole: Magnum is amazingly naive in this episode, blindly believing the story about Tracy Spencer being a cop against every possible evidence of the contrary. This buffoonery aside, Tracy saves him from the two girls identifying herself as a cop, but a couple scenes later they both go meet their boss and try to set up a sting passing off as dealers of stolen goods. That does not make any sense.

Of Sound Mind - S3-E12

Higgins: How fiendishly deceptive of you, Magnum. I could have sworn I was hearing the emasculation of a large rodent. To my great surprise, I see the sounds are emanating from what I thought was a harmless musical instrument.
Magnum: Cute Higgins, real cute.
Higgins: Why Magnum? Why do this terrible thing?
Magnum: Higgins, I'll have you know I used to be very good. I was the second best sax player in my High School band!
Higgins: Well, how many sax players were there?!
Magnum: ...Anyway. I just saw this in a pawn shop window and thought I'd like to try and get my chops back.
Higgins: May I suggest that your "chops" are irretrievable.
Magnum: Higgins, did you come here just to abuse me!?
