Continuity mistake: In the alley fight, TC runs chasing a bad guy past an upturned cart. He is slowed down by a guy with a hat; when he has his arms around his shoulders, you can see that Roger E. Mosley (or his leaner stunt double) is not wearing a bracelet on his right wrist anymore. (00:39:10)
Audio problem: Magnum approaches Rick and TC at the table playing cards. TC's voice says "Fourteen bucks up on ya", but Roger E. Mosley's lips don't match and are the audio is Out of Sync, since he continues moving his mouth while Rick is saying something. (00:14:00)
Continuity mistake: The blood on Magnum's shirt when he lies in the middle of the street changes from the beginning to the end. For instance, the corner of his collar has a more sparse bloodstain in the close-up rather than at the beginning. (01:33:30)
Continuity mistake: There's a cut when General Hue flips Magnum on his back; the crowd witnessing the event changes from one shot to the next. (01:33:00)
Continuity mistake: In the close-up of Magnum's hand on the ground, he is looking at Ky and Michelle's feet, but there's no other person lying on the ground, contrary to the rest of the scene. (01:32:20)
Revealing mistake: When Magnum shoots the agent in front of Bully's Tattoo Shop, he gets propelled in the air at impossible distance in a very fake trajectory with obvious wirework. (01:31:50)
Other mistake: In the streets of Little Saigon in the climax with TC and Rick involved, you can spot the same passersby they met with Magnum a couple days before, same clothes and all. (01:30:35)
Continuity mistake: Buck Greene is face to the ship, held at gunpoint. When he turns around in the next shot, his right hand is significantly above the previous position (look at the yellow tag for reference). (01:24:30)
Revealing mistake: To make his escape from the church, Magnum turns the Mercedes around. You can distinctly see at the driver's seat the driver, which is not Tom Selleck but someone who seems to be wearing fake moustache. (01:10:50)
Continuity mistake: Ky is leaning against the church wall motioning Magnum and Lady Hue to move. In the two shots, his shadow shifted noticeably. (01:10:15)
Continuity mistake: When Magnum's wife is praying in the chapel, the Virgin Mary statue bare casts a shadow on the right part of the corner in close-up, while in wider angle casts a large shadow on the whole arch. (00:47:40)
Continuity mistake: In the crowd at Little Saigon, the same extras can be seen appearing multiple times. A particularly obvious one when TC surprises Magnum and stretches his arm trying to stop him from walking away. Right in front of them, there's an old woman with a younger female in a black shirt with a diagonal stripe. Several seconds pass and those two are in the little crowd that witness Rick and Thomas fighting over the kid. (00:34:50)
Continuity mistake: Magnum shows the picture to the old lady in the street by holding it from the top corner in the first shot, the bottom in close-up. (00:33:50)
Other mistake: Magnum and his bride seek shelter under table during the bombardment; if it happened the way it is shown, with a model completely torn to pieces, and with flames in frame during the first table shot, they would surely not be able to stay there, nor would have taken refuge there to begin with - if the roof did not kill them already falling on them. (00:25:10)
Other mistake: The US delegation pops from behind some trees with military copters that are explicitly presented as deafeningly noisy; it's just silly and internally contradictory. Even if we forget how underplayed helicopter noise often is in Hollywood, here we go from zero to thunderous in a split second. (00:21:40)
Continuity mistake: When Gen. Hu is teasing Col. Ky about his need to justify his lack of results, the shadow cast on his chest changes heavily with the camera angle. (00:21:15)
Continuity mistake: When TC and Magnum have the conversation on the beach, extras are constantly recycled; obvious example is the girl with a bandanna and a red bikini, appearing behind both too. (00:17:30)
Continuity mistake: Rick checks out of the photo Magnum hands him. In the background, cards are scattered on the table. The next time we see the table a couple cuts later, the two of hearts changed position, now being on top of the scattered cards, and it is in yet another position during TC's close-up. (00:14:35)
Deliberate mistake: Magnum spots the fateful brunette on the yacht. During this scene, a couple times he sees her with the exact angle of the camera zoom when he just pulled away from it. (00:11:00)
