Magnum, P.I.

The Elmo Ziller Story - S2-E20

Factual error: At the beginning of the episode, the captions say; "Texas Hill Country." Later, Elmo explains the case and mentions to Magnum that it happened "outside El Paso." Very much outside, since El Paso is nowhere near Hill Country, hundreds off to the West. (00:01:35 - 00:15:40)

The Last Page - S2-E19

Factual error: At the end of the episode, they bring flowers on the tomb at the Memorial cemetery, but given the crime committed, the vet would have been denied to be buried with those honors.

Texas Lightning - S2-E17

Factual error: Magnum shoots a flare gun at a helicopter, and that brings it down making the heli's engine sputter and slowly lose altitude. That's Hollywood nonsense, as a projectile of that kind wouldn't do that sort of damage. (00:41:00)

Italian Ice - S2-E15

Factual error: The bad guy is called "Marchese di Como", the Marquis of Como, but as perhaps it is more known internationally now than in the 80s, Como is at the very North of Italy and nowhere near Sicily. The Marquis/Marchese's henchman is called "Segundo" (pronounced as such and written in the credits), but it's a Spanish name, not an Italian one.

Italian Ice - S2-E15

Factual error: When Magnum first approaches the Ferrari of the mobster, the front license plate is ZZG A 532. When he drives off, the back license plate can be seen, and it's 574572. Neither is a valid Italian license plate for the time period, it should also be noted. (00:02:35 - 00:07:10)

Italian Ice - S2-E15

Factual error: Marchese is calling for Maria the cook. The sentence he says to one of his henchmen is probably meant to be "I'll put her in a bodybag" in Italian, but the way he says it and mispronounces sounds like " I'll f*ck her in a sack." (00:06:00)

Sammo

Italian Ice - S2-E15

Factual error: The Italian featured in the episode ranges from acceptable but still pronounced with a clear foreign accent and no understanding of the language, to utter garbage with mangled words, like the bit when the maid/cook is feeding the cats at the beginning.

The Taking of Dick McWilliams - S2-E9

Factual error: Mitsu comes from a strict family of Japanese heritage who stay true to the culture, donning the oriental garb and unequivocally showing that she follows the tradition, but she does not even know how to pronounce "Arigato" correctly. (00:43:00)

From Moscow to Maui - S2-E4

Factual error: The whole episode begins with the premise that a Soviet pilot would fly his MIG aircraft all the way to Hawaii to defect to the US from the USSR; while the aircraft of this episode is fictional (MIG-30), it still is at unreasonable distance for a military jet fighter of its era.

From Moscow to Maui - S2-E4

Factual error: The first attempt to extract Nina fails. The messy and grizzled KGB agent says then, in captions (hard subs); "Excuse, Mikhail Fillipovitch." Filipovic, maybe, surely not with the double L; you can also hear in the pronunciation there's no double. (00:15:00)

From Moscow to Maui - S2-E4

Factual error: During the aerial maneuvers, the so called Mig-30 (no such plane exists) is easily recognizable even from those who aren't aviation buffs as just the same plane as the two US ones intercepting it, but with an opportune paintjob. Especially obvious during the credit roll for Jeff Pomerantz, when the three of them fly slowing down for the landing, and in formation. (00:04:00)

The Woman on the Beach - S2-E3

Factual error: The opening sequence is set in "Summer 1945", and the librarian mentions as well the season; summer. The prop that Magnum is checking out though, has a headline identifying it as April 17, not quite summer. (00:17:55)

Of Sound Mind - S3-E12

Higgins: How fiendishly deceptive of you, Magnum. I could have sworn I was hearing the emasculation of a large rodent. To my great surprise, I see the sounds are emanating from what I thought was a harmless musical instrument.
Magnum: Cute Higgins, real cute.
Higgins: Why Magnum? Why do this terrible thing?
Magnum: Higgins, I'll have you know I used to be very good. I was the second best sax player in my High School band!
Higgins: Well, how many sax players were there?!
Magnum: ...Anyway. I just saw this in a pawn shop window and thought I'd like to try and get my chops back.
Higgins: May I suggest that your "chops" are irretrievable.
Magnum: Higgins, did you come here just to abuse me!?
