Character mistake: At the station after the release of the first suspect, Kelly does the good cop routine and apologizes for his Sergeant, saying he does not like a private eye telling him how to do his job. Continuity mistake: During the scene at the Kamehameha Club when Magnum enlists Rick and TC's help, the same woman with a navy and white swimsuit with a white belt walks by the surf first, then behind Rick, with a different guy each time in the span of a few seconds. (00:17:10 - 00:18:00)

Continuity mistake: TC elbows Rick protesting for the choice of cover-up name. Between them, the big boned waitress smiles and turns around with her tray. The bartender is on the phone with the dealer, and it cuts briefly to the duo waiting at the counter. The waitress is still there, turning and smiling. (00:20:10)

Revealing mistake: Magnum finds the trap the veteran put in the plantation. When he walks past it, the camera pans to the left following him, and hits and moves a branch with a very noticeable and unmistakeable effect, not simply the rustling of the wind. (00:25:45)

Audio problem: Magnum is talking with Nick, the traumatized Vietnam vet. When he says "Maybe I've seen the kill. Maybe...I've just", his lips don't move for the last words. (00:29:05)

Other mistake: When the bad guy pulls the gun on Magnum, the last twist is spoiled a minute too early if you notice the shadow of the actor on the right side, already standing by just out of frame. (00:46:40)

Character mistake: At the end of the episode, the cop reads the culprit his right, twists his arm and exits stage left with him. But 'left' happens to be towards the ocean, away from the patrol car. He also leaves the gun behind, lying in the sand. Worst cop ever. (00:47:45)
