Corrected entry: Robin walks into the apartment and sees a goat turd, which can only be there if The Goat was in the apartment. She goes on to talk to Marshall about keeping quiet about the fact that she slept with Barney, so we know that this happened when Ted was turning 30. But later in the end, Ted says that The Goat was actually there on his 31st birthday. So The Goat turd could not have been there at the time.
Correction: First, it's more like 20 years in the past (2030 is present and 2005 - 2013 is the past... Ted turned 30 in 2008). Second, Marshall threw 2 surprise parties, the first on Ted's 30th birthday and the second on his 31st birthday. It is totally conceivable that Present Day (Bob Saget) Ted co-mingled the events of two separate birthdays that occurred 22 and 21 years in the past; one where Robin identified The Goat turd (Ted's 31st birthday) and when Robin slept with Barney (Ted's 30th birthday) especially if the focal point in his mind was a surprise birthday party. Finally, that is the point of the end of the episode when Present Day Ted acknowledges that The Goat incident happened the following year so the viewer is meant to disregard any references to The Goat on Ted's 30th birthday.
Corrected entry: When Barney does "Have you met Ted?" for the first time, he taps a woman wearing a red top but you can't see her face. When the camera angle changes to reveal it as Robin, she's wearing a green top. (00:00:43)
Correction: Within the actual episode this does not occur. During the episode (00:02:50) Barney taps the shoulder of the woman wearing a red top standing beside him, and it's Yasmin wearing the red top as she and Ted continue to converse, until Yasmin tells Ted she's Carl's girlfriend. It's later in the episode (00:05:50) that Ted spots Robin wearing a green top, then Robin walks over to the bar counter. It's at this moment where Barney taps Robin's shoulder.
Corrected entry: In S3E15 "The Chain Of Screaming" Barney is talking about Gary Blauman confronting his boss, and when Marshall asks, "Is that the end of the story?" Barney replies, "No, no Of Course not. He died." But in s9e21 the entire episode is about Gary Blauman.
Correction: Obviously Barney was lying.
Corrected entry: When Barney invites Lily to his house Lily says he called her at 7:22 am, but when the camera shows Lily it shows 19:47, which means 7:47 pm, not am. (00:02:25 - 00:09:30)
Right Place Right Time - S4-E22
Corrected entry: When the first error in Barney's list is discovered, they come to the conclusion that he's only slept with 198 women, so Marshall's previous figure of a 1.195913451538% success rate is slightly off. Marshall says that Barney's "only half a percent less gross than we thought." But using 198 girls in Marshall's equation results in a success rate of 1.18990461538%, which is nowhere near a difference of 0.5%.
Correction: 1.1959% minus half a percent is 1.1899%, ie. fitting exactly with what Marshall says. Subtracting 0.5 wouldn't be half a percent, as 0.5 is a large proportion of 1.1959 (42%, in fact).
Corrected entry: The Marshall/Lily plotline revolves around Lily's bringing Marshall a six-pack of beer from every trip. But the FAA ban on liquids and gels on aircraft would have ended that tradition several years ago.
Correction: This does not have to be true. If she buys the beer after she is through the check point, (eg from duty free or other store in the airport) she could have it on the flight with her.
Corrected entry: In episode 3-4 "Little Boys", there is a flashback of Robin as a young girl, with girly clothes and long hair. But in this episode she says that her father raised her as the son he never had.
Correction: Not to the absolute literal sense. She was raised doing male/boy hobbies and interests but that doesn't mean she always looked like a boy.
Many flashbacks including her with her father have included short hair.
Corrected entry: In the scene where Robin and Ted are talking on the roof at the end of the episode, Robin asks Ted why, when Mike was willing to look like a complete idiot by dressing us as Hansel for her, she couldn't 'be Gretel' to be a good girlfriend. Ted replies, "Because you just haven't met the right Hansel yet". Hansel and Gretel were in fact brother and sister in the story.
Correction: He meant that they just don't do well together. He wasn't implying that Hansel and Gretel had an incestuous relationship.
Life Among the Gorillas - S1-E17
Corrected entry: When Barney is talking to Marshall in the bar you can see Victoria behind Marshall's head, although she should have gone to Germany.
Correction: After just watching the episode, Victoria is nowhere to be seen. There is a waitress that kind of looks like her, but you never see her whole face, and it's definitely not Victoria.
Corrected entry: There are two problems with the scene in which Heather enters the store with the briefcase. One is debatable, but one is not. All stores, for safety reasons (most notably, if a fire were to break out) should have doors that open outwards, away from the store. It's a law in most areas of the US. The other thing is that Ted says, "That's a "push," not a "pull."" That means that she attempted to pull it, but if it were a "push" door, there would be no handle to pull, meaning there is nothing there for anyone to pull on.
Correction: No they are both debatable. There is nothing wrong with having handles on both sides of the door. No mistake here. As for the 'safety' concern. You said 'most areas' of the USA have this rule. Can you tell me that every store in NYC abides by this rule? I would imagine there would be a lot of stores that don't, this store for example. No mistake here.
Rebound Bro - S3-E18
Corrected entry: When Stella comes to apologize, Ted says, "This is awkward, I have a girl here." Stella hits him and they kiss. Although they only kiss twice, you can hear three kisses. During the last one, their lips are not even touching.
Correction: The third noise is not the noise of a kiss. If you look at Stella's mouth after they kiss, you will see that she is making the noise with her mouth.
Corrected entry: Almost all the taxi cabs used across the show have the code 9Z72 on top. Obviously it is the same cab they use for every episode, they don't even bother changing the sign.
Correction: In most of the episodes, it's the same cab. The cab driver (and limo driver in one episode), Ranjit, is a recurring character.
He is actually a permanent limo driver but he can choose to drive the taxi.
The Bracket - S3-E14
Corrected entry: The mystery woman warns Lily to stay away from Barney Stinson. When they go visit Anna, the second woman on The Bracket, Barney reminds Lily that she thinks he's Ted Mosby. That would remove her as a candidate right away since Lily was warned to stay away from Barney, not Ted.
Correction: Put it down as a character mistake or as deliberate mistake by Barney. Barney wanted to include all women he "dated". Given the fact that he is only revealing this when he is with Lily suggests he did not disclose this with the group when telling her back story to help the group make a decision.
Farhampton - S8-E1
Corrected entry: When forced to explain himself to Quinn in 1 minute after finding out Barney and Robin used to date, Barney incorrectly states that Robin moved to Brazil and came back with "a Latin stud" after Ted and Robin broke up. Robin actually vacationed in Argentina. (00:11:35 - 00:12:40)
Correction: Barney's knowledge of geography is awful, as we've seen throughout the show. So, this could easily be in the script on purpose.
Game Night - S1-E15
Corrected entry: In episode 1 "The Pilot", when the gang are drinking champagne at the bar with Ranjit the cab driver, there is a tray on the table when they toast. In this episode the same scene is shown in flashback, and there is no tray. (00:16:00)
No Tomorrow - S3-E12
Corrected entry: In this episode Marshall and Lily buy an apartment that turns out to be crooked. When Marshall is hanging the picture it slants to the left of the camera each time he tries to straighten it, however the apartment is slanted to the right, on camera, and also demonstrated by Robin when she rolls the champagne bottle.
Correction: There is no mistake in that scene. The picture tips the correct way for the laws of physics.
Actually the picture shouldn't tip at all, since only the floor is crooked.
Actually you can see that the corners of the wall are perpendicular to the floor so there should be a tip.
Corrected entry: Ted thinks he's texting Holly, when they're actually going to Barney's work cell, as he explains to Robin. It therefore makes absolutely no sense that Ted would get the text about the restaurant that Marshall would have sent to Lily.
Correction: These two are unrelated to each other. Marshall just mis-sends the text.
Right Place Right Time - S4-E22
Corrected entry: At the end of the episode when Ted goes around hugging people whilst holding the yellow umbrella, he isn't holding the umbrella when he goes to hug Barney at McLarens.
Correction: There is a place to check umbrellas at the entrance of the bar, so Ted must have checked it like everyone always does. Notice how even when it is raining, no one has umbrellas in the bar.
Corrected entry: When Robin steps out of her front door to give Ted directions, she wraps her cardigan around herself. In the next shot the cardigan is instantly open, and she wraps it around herself again. (00:18:15)
World's Greatest Couple - S2-E5
Corrected entry: Ted and Robin are surprised by the size and layout of Lily's new apartment, despite having seen the apartment with her when she was house hunting in episode 2 of this season's "The Scorpion and the Toad".
Correction: This whole show is told in flashback from a guy remembering 10 years previously. It's the type of thing where it's very, very difficult to pinpoint what is a mistake and what would come under remembering, which I think this does. It would only be a plot hole if it meant something else in the series couldn't have happened unless it specifically had to be there on his 30th.
