Cold Comfort - S4-E14

Corrected entry: They are confronting a man who may be the unsub when Emily Prentiss says that the victims all have blonde hair and blue skin. Obviously, the victims have blue eyes, not blue skin. (00:18:17)

Correction: Prentiss was referring to the fact that the man liked dead women, when you die skin turns blue.

The Fox - S1-E7

Corrected entry: When interrogating the Uncle, the agents say that Emily is left handed (reinforced by when they throw a ball to the uncle and he catches it with his right hand). In a later scene, they show Emily drawing the black and white picture for the "unsub" with her right hand.

Correction: The girl shown later drawing with the unsub is Jackie, the introverted daughter of the third family.

Demons - S9-E24

Character mistake: When Blake is telling Spencer to keep his eyes on her after being shot she calls him Ethan twice. (00:02:29)

Suggested correction: This is very poignant and deliberate moments in the dialogue. Blake is feeling distraught since Reid pushed Blake out of the way and took the bullet instead of her. Blake calls Reid by her dead son's name, "Ethan," when she tries to keep him alert and shouts, "Ethan, Ethan!" Later in the episode, when Blake takes Reid back to his apartment, she explains that watching Reid when he was hurt touched a nerve. Reid then asks Blake, "Who's Ethan?" and Blake tells Reid all about her son "Ethan" who died when he was 9 years old. Blake then tells Reid that "Ethan" would have been a lot like him. Note, on the jet return flight, Blake texted Hotch her resignation from the BAU, and at the very end she leaves her badge with Reid.

Correction: Watch the scene again (00:25:10). The severed ear in the box is Sophie's right ear.

Zugzwang - S8-E12

Character mistake: When Reid realizes who the unsub is, he asks Hotch if he was introduced as "Doctor" or "Agent". As explained in the pilot (and in every episode since), the team has always introduced Reid as "Doctor", to make sure that the people they meet treat him with respect and don't just see him as a kid.

Suggested correction: I think the reason Reid asks for a clarification is because the unsub knew his name and title when he hadn't been formally introduced because this case was under special circumstances so the team wasn't being formal.

It has nothing to do with being formal. The mistake is saying the team never introduces Reid as "Agent Reid", so there's no reason to for Reid to even ask this question.

Bishop73

I think what they meant was that it would be assumed his title was agent, as he is a part of the FBI, but she addressed him by his correct title without any indication of his title being different to the others, which ultimately suggested that she knew Reid beforehand.

Protection - S10-E22

Continuity mistake: The old lady victim under the bridge has a change in clothes. When the shooting happens she is wearing a red jumper and what looks like flowery red top, when the team arrives at the crime scene she is wearing a grey jumper and a white polka dot top. (00:15:54 - 00:26:30)

Suggested correction: The change of clothes happens in every crime scene/flashback to show us the killer's delusion. If you pay attention, it happens with the girl whose boyfriend gets killed and also with the cop/mailman.

Correction: In fact the matter is a subject of intense debate and many scientists believe that it is genetic, and will unhesitatingly say so. That is the case here.

Correction: Schizophrenia tends to run in families, but no single gene is thought to be responsible. It's more likely that different combinations of genes make people more vulnerable to the condition. However, having these genes does not necessarily mean you'll develop schizophrenia. If one of your parents have schizophrenia then your chances are 6-10% of developing it.

Nanny Dearest - S8-E21

Corrected entry: The nanny said it was cold out and she was sorry she hadn't worn a jacket the day she was kidnapped; it makes no sense then that she was wearing sandals that day too.

Correction: Unusual but not uncommon, and certainly not impossible. Many babysitters/nannies wear sandals while working no matter what time of year because 1) sandals allow them to be comfortable and 2) they are easily removed when entering the house so as not to track dirt, mud, or other harmful substances onto the floor where a child may be playing or crawling.

Correction: We never see her feet, there is no way to tell if she was wearing sandals.

We can see she is wearing thong sandals when she is kneeling down by the stroller in her flashback to the abduction.

Hostage - S11-E14

Factual error: Violet is seen wearing Hood style flip-flops where there is a denim like covering just beyond the sandal straps, but this scene takes place in 2001, 12 years before those shoes were available.

Suggested correction: It actually looks like she is wearing wide leg jeans which cover her feet and shoes giving that illusion.

Out of the Light - S6-E22

Continuity mistake: When the kidnapper is taking the girl out of the basement, she is barefoot as she climbs the ladder; but when Morgan pulls her out of the car, she is wearing sandals with an intricate strapping pattern.

Suggested correction: It's quick, but if you look close you can see the heel strap of her sandals as she takes the first step on the ladder.

100 - S5-E9

Plot hole: In the scene where The Reaper/George Foyet calls Haley from Marshall Kassmeyer's home he identifies himself as Victor Collins from the Marshall Service. Later in the episode Hotch calls Haley and tells her he needs Jack working the case. Jack comes to the phone and asks him "Is George a bad guy?" Until Hotch called Haley she didn't know Foyet was not a US Marshall named Victor Collins.

Suggested correction: He didn't say George.

Compulsion - S1-E2

Corrected entry: When the professor gets killed, a kid is shown trying to drink out of the water fountain, but the water is turned off. Gideon figures out that there will be no water to the sprinklers, so a fire is soon going to be set. In real life, fire sprinklers are not connected to the main water supply. Sprinklers are on a separate pump. (00:15:00)

Correction: There are times when a building sprinkler system may be completely separate from the building water supply, but this isn't necessarily the case. The sprinkler system may tee off the water main. The interconnect valves would be secured and alarmed, but that wouldn't be impossible to circumvent.

Correction: If the building's water main has been shut off the will be no water to either sprinklers or water fountains. A "typical" building has only one water main.

Suggested correction: Morgan doesn't ask what song on that album would speak to an insomniac, he asks what Metallica song in general would. He says, and I quote, "Okay, so I'm an insomniac who listens to Metallica to get to sleep. What song could possibly speak to me?" His query is in regards to the band's discography as a whole; neither he nor Reid mention a specific album, so the fact that "Some Kind of Monster" is the CD that they find is, ultimately, irrelevant.

The team was looking for what CD Slessman listened to the most to figure out what his password could be. They had no luck going through all his metal collection. The clue was suppose to be Slessman listened to "Some Kind of Monster" CD the most to help him sleep, which is why it wasn't in the case.

Bishop73

As Bishop73 says, its implied that Some Kind Of Monster is played most. And so the hint would be one of those tracks. But as stated in the mistake, Enter Sandman isn't on that album.

What Happens at Home... - S6-E10

Character mistake: After the murder that takes place while the team is at the church meeting, they gather together to talk about narrowing down the suspect list to the people who didn't show up to the meeting. Spencer shows up with a stack of papers and says 18 suspects didn't show up. We then see his actor break character and almost laughs when he looks over at Ashley, whose actress too almost breaks character from laughing.

Limelight - S3-E13

David Rossi: When I interviewed Bundy, he had a theory about pornography. He said "If you want to stop people from becoming like me, don't burn Catcher in the Rye."
Aaron Hotchner: "Burn Hustler." I read your books, too, Dave.

About Face - S3-E6

Trivia: The scene where Rossi is bird hunting was done to show how different the character was going to be from Gideon, who was a noted bird lover.

Chosen answer: Back in Target Rich, a hitman named Giuseppe Montolo dies whilst being interrogated by Derek. The men who abducted Derek were hired by his father, Chazz, who seems to blame Derek for his son's death. It's explained further in A Beautiful Disaster.
