We're Going to Disney World - S8-E17
Corrected entry: In the scene where David is trying to make airline reservations for their trip, he tells Roseanne there are only six seats available, and they need eight. They would actually need 11: Dan, Roseanne, David, Darlene, Becky, Mark, Jackie, DJ, Bev, Andy & Jerry. (00:12:00)
Corrected entry: The cops should have cuffed Dan's hands behind his back, not in front, as this is standard procedure.
Correction: This "standard procedure" is not altogether cut-and-dried. It actually depends on the policy of the police department, as well as the judgment of the officers making the arrest. The two officers know Dan and Rosie. Dan was compliant, not resisting whatsoever.
Lovers Lanes - S1-E6
Continuity mistake: Dan tells Crystal that his shoe size is 11. A few months later during episode 16, "Mall Story", Dan tells a shoe salesman he takes a size 13.
Suggested correction: Some people wear different sizes depending on the type of shoe. Not necessarily a mistake.
Scenes from a Barbecue - S3-E24
Continuity mistake: Becky went from having long hair throughout this season to having very short hair in the last episode (ep. 23), then back to long hair in this episode (ep. 24).
Suggested correction: I'm not sure what the ruling on these types of mistakes is, but "Dances with Darlene" (ep23 and production code 425) was aired out of order. It was the last episode filmed in the season and meant to be a season finale, but aired prior to "Scenes from a Barbecue" (production code 423). One reason seems to be this is a Mother's Day episode and aired on the Tuesday before Mother's Day, and the next episode was Jay Sanders' last appearance.
No Talking - S2-E12
Factual error: When Becky locks Roseanne out of her bedroom, Roseanne heads to the garage for a screwdriver to take the door off the hinges - an impossibility since the hinges are on Becky's side of the door. In the next scene, the door is off the hinges.
Suggested correction: Roseanne could have waited until Becky opened the door at a later time. She would have to come out at some point. Dan could also have ordered her to open it, and Roseanne then took it off the hinges. It was also Darlene's room, so Becky would have to let her in. Roseanne was making a point and to make sure Becky didn't do it again.
This is the most ridiculously convoluted "correction" ever. It was a monumental mistake, or at the very least, they hoped viewers wouldn't notice.
Yeah, not an impossibility whatsoever considering even if the door had to be forced open, it was going to be taken off the hinges. Classic 80's/90's parenting.
Corrected entry: Over the course of the show, the entrance into DJ's bedroom changes position. In the earlier seasons, the entry was on the right-hand side of the screen and the bathroom door was to the left. In later episodes, the characters entered the bedroom from the left-hand side. Everything else in the room remains the same.
The Pied Piper of Lanford - S3-E25
Continuity mistake: In Ziggy's first appearance in the series (S2, EP. 16 "Born to Be Wild"), he says he has two kids. He states "I had to make mine. I checked them at birth, they're boys!" However in his second appearance in the series here, he states they were his girlfriend, Jill's, kids and the kids are back living with their father.
Continuity mistake: Harris was born in 1997 (in season 9) so in 2018, that makes her 21 years old, but in the 2018 revival and its spinoff "The Conners", she is depicted as 17-18 years old and attending high school.
Other mistake: When the opening credits are shown, the door to the basement is in the kitchen. In the beginning of the series the door is still in the kitchen, but in later seasons the basement door is in the laundry room, but in the opening credits it is still in the kitchen.
Suggested correction: I had noticed the same thing and thought it was a continuity mistake. However, in Season 3, Dan mentioned building the back service porch where Roseanne does the laundry. There are two basement accesses, the one in the kitchen, and what was probably the outside entrance in the backyard that is now enclosed inside the service porch. The family prefers using that one. Most houses, mine own included, have multiple basement access, one inside the house and one outside. In my state, it's a building code requirement.
Corrected entry: When Dan is outside working on the truck with Dwight, and Dwight is asking Jackie out, after she turns him down and Dan returns with the distributor cap for the truck you can see a announcement card safety pinned on the back of his vest.
Correction: It was a hunting license pinned to the back of his vest. Not an announcement card.
Why did he have a hunting license pinned to his back?
Correction: Jerry is still an infant and Andy is a toddler, so the family would not need to book seats for them. They would sit in their mothers' laps (or the other family members) on the plane. Therefore, the family would actually need nine seats.
