Factual error: In the first flashback, when Charlie first hears himself on the radio, there is a close-up of the UK number-plate on the front of the van. It is the wrong colour: this is a yellow plate. As it is on the front of the van, it should be white. Only rear plates in the UK are yellow. This false plate was made up in mirror-image by the production company, as the actual van used was Left-Hand Drive. The whole scene, apart from the shot of the radio, was filmed and then flipped for the final cut, to make the van appear to be Right-Hand Drive as you'd find in the UK. Hence the moles on the right of Charlie's neck are on his left in this scene. (00:04:20)
Continuity mistake: Charlie's list that we see several times in the episode is constantly changing in regards to the writing on the paper. Most noticeable is the word Time and I Heard. (00:11:20)
Continuity mistake: When Charlie hears DriveShaft on the radio, his brother has his hand on the wing mirror in one shot but on Charlie in the next and vice versa. (00:05:10)
Continuity mistake: Alex gets handed her gun while she has bloody hands. She then proceeds to run to her boyfriend in the woods. When she arrived, her hands are clean. (00:19:00)
Chosen answer: None of the main characters died in the plane crash. Many died on the island after the crash (Jack, Charlie, Sun, Jin, Daniel, Juliet, others), some lived on the island for an apparently long time after the crash (Hurley, Ben, Bernard, Rose) but some lived lives off the island after the crash (Sawyer, Kate, Claire, Miles, Aplert, and Lapidus). Remember that Christian tells Jack that "time has no meaning here," (in Purgatory). When everyone meets at the church, they are at the end of their lives however long that may have been and will now "move on" together. They look like they did on the island because that is the way they best remember each other.
