Trivia: Danielle Harris auditioned for a part on this show 13 times before finally being selected to appear in this episode.
Wrong Side of the Tracks - S2-E19
Trivia: Eric's dream ice skating lesson from Nancy Kerrigan was filmed at Lake Placid.
Trivia: Although she doesn't remember it, Will Friedle claims that Danielle Fishel was directed to do so many takes of her campaign announcement at the end that she eventually broke down crying. Friedle noted that her eyes during the scene look like they had makeup applied around them to cover up that she had been crying, and Rider Strong added that she looked pissed.
Trivia: The "All girls are icky" note from Shawn on Paula's notebook was actually written by Rider Strong. When watching the episode, Strong said he had no recollection of writing it, but recognized it as his handwriting.
Trivia: Rider Strong once attended a bachelor party, and someone arranged for him to get a lapdance from a stripper. The stripper told him that she grew up watching Boy Meets World.
Trivia: William Daniels nearly quit the show after filming the pilot episode, as he was not fond of Mr. Feeny's portrayal. Michael Jacobs planned to replace him with David Ogden Stiers if he went through with it.
Trivia: This episode is Ethan Suplee's acting debut.
Trivia: Aside from a handful of episodes from season 1, Rider Strong never watched this show until 2022, largely due to his own insecurities about watching his performances.
Wrong Side of the Tracks - S2-E19
Trivia: Will Friedle has said that for the dream sequence with Nancy Kerrigan, they dyed his hair to match the ice-skating double's hair, instead of the other way around, likely because it is easier to darken someone's hair than it is to lighten it. Friedle wondered why they didn't just have him and the double wear beanies to cover their hair instead of sending him to a salon in Lake Placid to get his hair dyed.
Trivia: After landing the role of Eric, Will Friedle and his dad walked around Universal CityWalk Hollywood, where they ran into Jason Marsden, who was also up for the role of Eric. Marsden turned to his two friends and said "This is the prick who stole my job," which Friedle's dad finds to be hilarious.
Trivia: Connecticut native Will Friedle once wore a jersey for the Hartford Whalers - a defunct NHL team - with his name on it at a Disney event. The next day, he found an Anaheim Mighty Ducks jersey in his dressing room, who were owned by Disney at the time, implying that the studio wanted him to start wearing that to events instead.
Cory's Alternative Friends - S1-E4
Trivia: According to director David Trainer, the reason why Shawn doesn't appear in the hallway scene near the end of the episode is because, as Cory's friend, he would have stuck around after the rest of the group of students went to the library to sign the petition, and for the kiss between Cory and Topanga to work better, they needed to be alone.
Trivia: In June 2022, Rider Strong, Danielle Fishel and Will Friedle launched a podcast titled Pod Meets World, in which they discuss every episode of this show. In the first episode, they revealed that they asked Ben Savage to participate, but he wasn't interested.
Trivia: The role of Alan Matthews was originally played by Matt McCoy when the pilot was first shot. He was replaced by William Russ in the reshoot.
Trivia: Will Friedle originally lost the role of Eric to another actor. The actor - whom Friedle has identified as being named either Harry Branichee or Harry Branshee - was similar in height to Ben Savage at the time. The creators of the show realised this would be problematic when Ben Savage started to grow taller, eventually being taller than his onscreen older brother, so they went with Friedle.
Trivia: Other actors considered for the role of Eric were Rider Strong's brother Shiloh, and Jason Marsden. Marsden would later appear in the series as Eric's high school friend, also named Jason Marsden.
Trivia: Ben Savage and Rider Strong are the only actors to appear in all 158 episodes of the show.
