Only Fools and Horses

Chain Gang - S6-E3

Plot hole: When all the gang including Arnie leave the flat to go to the restaurant to meet Mr Stavros, Rodney decides to stay at the flat and wait for Cassandra to phone him. The next scene shows the gang all watching Arnie in the restaurant waiting for Mr Stavros to arrive. Rodney is sat in the van with Uncle Albert but Rodney decided to stay at the flat so there was no way of him being there.

The Jolly Boys' Outing - S6-E7

Plot hole: After discovering that there was a rail strike and that they had missed the last bus home, the 27-member coach party all go their separate ways to try and find accommodation for the night. Boycie, Mike and Alan head off together while Trigger is left behind on his own to decide on which direction he wishes to walk in to try and find his own digs. Later on that evening, Boycie, Mike and Trigger seemingly all arrive at the nightclub together. How come? Especially after Trigger informs Del and Rodney that the place where he is staying is different to where Boycie and Mike are staying.

Suggested correction: Maybe they bumped into each other in a pub or somewhere else along the way? It's not implausible for them to have met in a small town prior to arrival at the club.

To Hull and Back - S4-E8

Continuity mistake: Rodney says that he picked up the money off the table when they were trying to escape from the police, yet if you look closely he never goes near it. And he never has another chance to pick it up.

Trivia: The story behind why Trigger calls Rodney Dave is that apparently Roger Lloyd Pack kept getting names mixed up during rehearsals early on in the show's history. "Dave" came from David Jason when he was actually with Nicholas Lyndhurst [Rodney]. It stuck and quickly became part of the show's immense appeal.

Chosen answer: An apparent long string of illnesses.

Answer: Joan Mavis Trotter (Nee Hollins) was an unseen character in Only Fools And Horses, having died in 1964, 17 years before the series began. She died of an alcohol related illness due to both her sham marriage to Reg Trotter and being hit hard by the death of her secret lover Freddie "The Frog" Robdal.
