Sex and the country - S4-E9

Continuity mistake: When Carrie is holding the pie pan, she is startled by the squirrel on the window and drops the hot pan, burning her legs. She is facing forward directly towards the pie pan, and as it falls it could only have burned the front and possibly a little of the sides of her legs. But later when she is sitting on the kitchen table, Aiden takes some ice from the iced tea pitcher and puts it in both of his hands. He then asks her where she was burned, and proceeds to gently rub the ice on the back of both of her legs, not the front or sides where she was burned. He is only rubbing the back of her calves, below the knees. (00:25:00 - 00:25:45)

Baby, talk is cheap - S4-E6

Audio problem: After Carrie returns from dinner, she is using the computer when suddenly Aiden ("AidenNYC") is shown logging onto her AOL Buddy List (upper right of her computer screen). But for some reason, the show uses an 'IM Chime' sound. When someone logs onto their computer and appears on your Buddy List, it makes a different noise (usually a door-opening sound). The 'IM Chime' sound only happens when someone actually sends you an Instant Message. In this case, Aiden had not IMed Carrie. There was no IM on her screen, and he only appeared on her Buddy List. Suggested correction: The sounds for logging on or IM'ing can be changed under the settings.

Because Carrie was brand new to the Internet, she had very little knowledge of how it works. She would not be advanced enough to know about IM settings, or how to change them. (This is clear when she humorously tries to 'hide' from Aiden's IM on screen, thinking he could see her physically). And it isn't likely that she would have changed the settings if she was just starting to use the Internet and had little experience with it. They used the wrong sound on camera.

What's sex got to do with it? - S4-E4

Continuity mistake: After Carrie asks Ray if he wants to 'play her', she pulls down the neckline of her top to reveal a strap on her left shoulder. But in the next shot when Ray moves behind Carrie and we are facing them, suddenly her top is pulled back up, and there is no strap showing. This was a seamless transition, and there was no time for anyone to have pulled her top back up. (00:19:05)

A vogue idea - S4-E17

Continuity mistake: When Charlotte is crying into the pillow, we can see that she's gotten black eye make-up on it. The splodges of make-up disappear twice during the scene, most noticeable just when Carrie walks in holding the baby.

Just say yes - S4-E12

Continuity mistake: When Carrie climbs into Big's car, she puts her bags in first, in between her and him. When the shot changes, a split second later her bags are suddenly tucked down by her legs on her other side. (00:15:15)

Ring a ding ding - S4-E16

Revealing mistake: When Samantha is surprised at Richard's apartment by his assistant, she quickly throws her towel around herself to cover up. But the towel rides up too far, and you can see that Kim Cattrall is wearing tan or nude colored underwear. Soon after that, Samantha makes a comment to the assistant that implies she was nude under the towel. So the panties were probably for the benefit of the actress, to protect her modesty below the waist. (00:21:40)

Ring a ding ding - S4-E16

Plot hole: When Charlotte places her ring box in front of Carrie on the table at the restaurant, there is a close-up shot showing that she is still wearing her simple gold wedding band on her right hand. The entire episode has emphasized that it's strange for Charlotte to still be wearing her diamond engagement ring when she is alone, since she is getting a divorce. So why is nothing mentioned about her continuing to wear her gold wedding band? That doesn't seem to be an issue, but wouldn't it be just as strange? (00:26:40)

Baby, talk is cheap - S4-E6

Plot hole: When Aiden suddenly shows up below Carrie's window the night of their dinner together, she gets up and looks down at him from her apartment. He suddenly starts to run into the building, and at the same time Carrie immediately starts running quickly through her small apartment to get to the front door. It would have only taken Carrie a few seconds to get across her apartment, but Aiden would have had to run up the three or four flights of stairs to reach the front door of Carrie's apartment . That would obviously have taken much longer; yet as soon as Carrie opens the door, Aiden is already there and running into the apartment. (00:25:25)

I heart ny - S4-E18

Continuity mistake: When Steven hands the baby to Carrie his chest is bare and arms are showing. When Carrie holds it he is fully covered and the arms are tucked inside the sheets. Then Carrie hands him to Miranda and the baby's arms are moving freely again.

Sacha

Samantha: There isn't enough wall space in New York City to hang all of my exes. Let me tell you, a lot of them were hung.

Boy, interrupted - S6-E10

Trivia: When Samantha runs into Phoebe on the street, Phoebe is really Geri Halliwell, one of the Spice Girls (Ginger Spice). At the same time that they were filming this scene in front of the SoHo House, Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) and David Beckham were actually inside the SoHo House as well. (00:04:50)

Twenty-something girls vs. thirty-something women - S2-E17

Question: I have a somewhat odd question for everyone that watches Sex and the city. I got into the show about 2 or 3 years after it started running but I remember watching the episode "Twenty-something girls vs. thirty-something women" which was the episode about Carrie and the girls going to the Hamptons and renting a house. Charlotte dates a younger guy that gives her crabs. There is commentary about comparing 20 year girls to 30 year old women and when I watched this episode originally I swear there was a different ending then what is what is shown now. I want to know if anyone else has seen this or am I absolutely insane. In the episode there is a girl that pukes on the beach - her friend holds her hair back and Carrie makes a commentary about "counting on 20 year old girls to hold your hair back." Later when Carrie sees Big with Natasha she runs to the beach and Miranda runs after her. Carrie throws up because she is upset and Miranda holds her hair back, but the version I saw changes the commentary/narration and says that you can "always count on a 30 something year old friend to hold your hair back." I haven't seen that version again. Has anyone else seen it or did I just dream this, because I swear I remember watching this when it first came out?

Answer: I'm a long-time fan of the show, having re-watched it many times, and I definitely remember slightly different dialogue at the end of that episode than what's on my DVD. I'm afraid I have no idea why this change might have been made or any other info, but you're not insane.
