Continuity mistake: In the scene where Carrie and Miranda are eating cakes outside the shop, talking about Miranda having to be supportive to Steve about his basketball competition, keep an eye on Miranda's cake. She takes bites out of the cake and then when it is down to the last bite, the camera shows Carrie, then shows Miranda again with the cake suddenly full again.
Continuity mistake: The episode 'Attack of the 5 foot 10 woman' in season three, when Charlotte is afraid of the sauna. She is running into the sauna with a towel wrapped around her waist. The towel comes loose and is nearly falling off - but in the next shot it is neatly tied around her waist.
Other mistake: When Carrie, Samantha and Miranda step outside of the hotel so Carrie can have a cigarette, she takes a couple of draws then throws it down on the step. She tries to stub it out with her shoe by twisting her foot on it but she (the actress) accidentally kicks the cigarette down the step, so she has to just pretend to still be stubbing it out.
Factual error: Throughout this episode, when Carrie talks about the functions of the left vs. right sides of the brain, she has them backwards. The right side of the brain is the creative side, the left is the logical one. Apparently, the writers liked the idea that the "right" side of Carrie's brain would ultimately lead her to do the "right" thing about Mr. Big, but that's not the case. Rational decision are made with the brain's left side. (But then again, Carrie never was very rational when it came to Mr. Big.).
Continuity mistake: When Samantha and her date are in the health food restaurant, she orders wheatgrass shots. The waiter pours them, filling the cups to the brim and then sets one on the table in front of each of them and we see again in a close up that they are both full up. Yet when Samantha picks up hers to drink, the liquid level has gone down a little way.
Continuity mistake: When Carrie and Shaun are laying on the floor of her bedroom, she has her left hand resting on her chest. But in the very next shot; her left arm is laying across her stomach, and her left hand is curved around her right waist. No time has passed in between these shots.
Deliberate mistake: Whenever Charlotte and Trey are shown sitting on the therapist's couch, Charlotte is considerably taller than Trey. They are both sitting on exactly the same surface, so there is no logical reason for this. In reality, Trey is actually taller than Charlotte. She should not be sticking up higher than him on the couch.

Plot hole: At the beginning of this episode, Carrie mentions in voiceover that they had been in LA for over a week. It's obvious in this episode, that they are staying in LA for a second week. But Carrie never showed up at the second meeting for the Production Company, which would have ended her work with them. Since the Production Company was paying for 2 hotel rooms; it isn't likely they would have let the girls stay in those rooms for 2 weeks for free, when Carrie quit the project after only a few days. And it's doubtful the girls would have elected to pay full price for an expensive hotel in LA for almost 2 weeks on their own, when they had expected to stay there for free.

Plot hole: When Charlotte runs out of the restaurant; her male friend is still chasing her, and you can see him follow her out the door to the sidewalk. But then Charlotte falls in front of Trey's taxi, and Trey gets out to help her up and they meet. Meanwhile, where is Charlotte's friend? He would have still been outside, have seen her fall, and surely would have ran over to help Charlotte and see if she was OK. Yet we never see him again after she falls, and he virtually disappears from the scene.
Plot hole: After Carrie misses the Staten Island Ferry, Bill Kelly suddenly drives up in his own car to offer her a ride home. She accepts, and gets in the car. He then asks her 'how do they get off the island' as if he has no idea of what roads to take. But he has obviously driven his own car TO Staten Island, so he should know the way back.
Continuity mistake: During this scene when Samantha is confronting her new assistant, the office set-up is completely different than before, when Nina G. was working for her. The assistant office space is much larger, glass desk, different angle, next to small conference room instead of Samantha's office, etc.; obviously not the same office set as previously used. Yet Samantha has not changed offices at all during this time period, as it wasn't too long ago when she fired Nina G. Something as major as changing offices would definitely have been mentioned in the plot (as changing apartments always is); and there hasn't been enough time since she fired Nina G.
Continuity mistake: When Carrie is in Big's kitchen, and hears Natasha come home, she tries to leave in a hurry. She puts on her blue levi jacket, so it's about halfway on with her left arm in the sleeve. But in the next shot of her, Carrie is suddenly wearing only her pink bra and carrying the blue jacket. As she unlocks the door and starts running down the stairs, she throws on the blue levi jacket for the second time.
Continuity mistake: When Carrie is lying on her bed, she is wearing yellow pants over a green top. The top portion of her pants is unbuttoned/unzipped as she moves. But after she picks up the phone to call Big, she is sitting up on her bed, and her pants are suddenly buttoned/zipped completely up. There was no opportunity in this sequence for her to have closed her pants.
Revealing mistake: When the transvestite is throwing eggs at Samantha's window, she is holding the cardboard egg container in her left hand. She keeps throwing eggs, but you can tell by the way she is holding the egg container that it is really empty. It flops down vertically from her hand, and there is no way eggs would be able to remain in the egg crate by holding it in that manner.

Continuity mistake: When Samantha is in the waiting room to get her results for the AIDS test; the wide shot shows two women seated in the orange chairs on the left. One of them has a pony tail and glasses. A man with dark hair is also seated in the chairs on the right. But when we see the waiting room again right before Samantha faints; only one woman is seated in the orange chairs on the left, and the woman with the pony tail and glasses has moved down, and over to the far yellow chairs on the left. There is also a second man in a blue shirt seated closer to Samantha, in the chairs on the right. This entire scene occurred in seconds; and there was no time for anyone to have gotten up, sat down or moved locations.
Revealing mistake: When Samantha and her partner are using the 'swing,' you can tell from the long shot that Kim Cattrall is actually wearing some sort of prosthetic around her hips, to simulate her rear area. It is larger, and sticks out prominently in an unnatural manner. This was probably done to ensure modesty for the actress.
Revealing mistake: When the gardener hands Charlotte the rose, he is supposedly picking it out of some rose bushes he is in the process of planting. He even makes a motion as if 'picking' it from the bunch. But when he hands the single long stem rose to Charlotte; it's obvious that this rose has already been cut, and is missing the lower leaves.
Continuity mistake: When Carrie and Mr. Big are having their affair in the 3rd hotel; it is located on 56th & 8th, and is described as being a 'seedy location'. When you see the inside of the hotel room, it is obviously a very cheap, tacky hotel. But later in the episode when Carrie and Mr. Big are in the lobby of this same hotel on 56th & 8th (verified in voice over); it is obviously the lobby of a much nicer, elegant, more expensive hotel.

Continuity mistake: When Carrie and Mr. Big are arguing out on the street in front of her apartment, there is a shot of her holding the leash for Pete the dog in both hands. But suddenly as she is yelling at Mr. Big, you can see her throw both her hands up in the air and touch her head. She is not holding the leash at all. Then seconds later; there is a shot of her legs as Pete is running off, dragging the leash from her body and waist as if she is still holding it.
Character mistake: When Carrie is describing the younger guy she is dating, she claims he is the creator of an Internet magazine 'that she still wasn't able to find on her computer'; meaning she had searched the Internet for it. But as we learn later in the series, right before she gets back together with Aidan for the second time; she doesn't have the Internet on her computer until then. The girls talk her into getting it, in order to email Aidan. So there was no way she could have searched for the other guy's Internet magazine on her computer, as it was an older Mac laptop and not likely to have search engines without Internet access. She was only using the hard drive at that time.
