Sex and the City

A vogue idea - S4-E17

Continuity mistake: Right before the '3-way'; Samantha takes off the top of her lingerie/dress and pushes it down to her waist, to reveal a strapless black bra she is wearing underneath. She does this in response to the younger girl removing her top, and they are both obviously getting ready for the main event. But in the next shot when Samantha is kissing Richard in bed, she is suddenly wearing the black lingerie/dress pulled back up over her shoulders again. Why would she put the dress back on, after removing it for sex? (00:23:10)

Suggested correction: That shot of her wearing the dress in bed is not immediate. She could have been foreplaying or he could have asked her to keep the dress on.

To market, to market - S6-E1

Continuity mistake: When Steve is wiping Miranda's face with the baby wipes, there are still a few smudges on her forehead. But after she chases him across the room and back again, suddenly the smudges are gone, and her forehead and face are entirely clear of anything. She did not have a chance to wipe her skin at all. Out of the frying pan - S6-E16

Continuity mistake: The amount of hair Samantha shaves off before Smith comes in increases without her shaving any more. She takes off two chunks, he comes in, and when he starts shaving his head, she's suddenly buzzed to a number 2 cut on a whole part of her head.

Sex and the country - S4-E9

Continuity mistake: When Charlotte walks into the bathroom and sees Bunny talking to Trey in the bath, his bathwater is clear. When the shot goes to a close up of Trey, there is a layer of white bubbles on the water. (00:21:25)

An american girl in paris (part une) - S6-E19

Continuity mistake: In one of the deleted scenes for this episode, Carrie has to take her laptop out of her purse in order to make room for the garment. She throws the laptop on the bed, with the 'Apple' symbol facing down. But just after that, the laptop is shown lying on the bed with the 'Apple' symbol facing up. To my knowledge, there is no 'Apple' logo on the bottom of the laptop.

Suggested correction: This is trivia. Deleted scenes lack context and therefore scenes to allow for continuity.

I heart ny - S4-E18

Continuity mistake: The scene with Samantha and Richard outside on the sidewalk was actually filmed on a day when it rained. The pavement alternates between wet and dry during different shots. (00:24:40)

Running with scissors - S3-E11

Continuity mistake: When Samantha is in the waiting room to get her results for the AIDS test; the wide shot shows two women seated in the orange chairs on the left. One of them has a pony tail and glasses. A man with dark hair is also seated in the chairs on the right. But when we see the waiting room again right before Samantha faints; only one woman is seated in the orange chairs on the left, and the woman with the pony tail and glasses has moved down, and over to the far yellow chairs on the left. There is also a second man in a blue shirt seated closer to Samantha, in the chairs on the right. This entire scene occurred in seconds; and there was no time for anyone to have gotten up, sat down or moved locations. (00:18:50)

Just say yes - S4-E12

Continuity mistake: When Carrie is trying to hail a cab, you can see her walking down a busy street in NYC. Big's black sedan is nowhere in sight. But a moment later; his black car suddenly pulls over to the curb right behind her, as if it was just next to her in traffic. There was no time for it to have come from anywhere else, or across from a far lane. The car was not further down the street coming towards her either, as you can see from the long shot. Big's sedan was not present in the street, before it pulled to the curb behind her. (00:14:45)

Charlotte: How can you forget a guy you've slept with?
Carrie: Toto, I don't think we're in single digits anymore.

Boy, interrupted - S6-E10

Trivia: When Samantha runs into Phoebe on the street, Phoebe is really Geri Halliwell, one of the Spice Girls (Ginger Spice). At the same time that they were filming this scene in front of the SoHo House, Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) and David Beckham were actually inside the SoHo House as well. (00:04:50)

Twenty-something girls vs. thirty-something women - S2-E17

Question: I have a somewhat odd question for everyone that watches Sex and the city. I got into the show about 2 or 3 years after it started running but I remember watching the episode "Twenty-something girls vs. thirty-something women" which was the episode about Carrie and the girls going to the Hamptons and renting a house. Charlotte dates a younger guy that gives her crabs. There is commentary about comparing 20 year girls to 30 year old women and when I watched this episode originally I swear there was a different ending then what is what is shown now. I want to know if anyone else has seen this or am I absolutely insane. In the episode there is a girl that pukes on the beach - her friend holds her hair back and Carrie makes a commentary about "counting on 20 year old girls to hold your hair back." Later when Carrie sees Big with Natasha she runs to the beach and Miranda runs after her. Carrie throws up because she is upset and Miranda holds her hair back, but the version I saw changes the commentary/narration and says that you can "always count on a 30 something year old friend to hold your hair back." I haven't seen that version again. Has anyone else seen it or did I just dream this, because I swear I remember watching this when it first came out?

Answer: I'm a long-time fan of the show, having re-watched it many times, and I definitely remember slightly different dialogue at the end of that episode than what's on my DVD. I'm afraid I have no idea why this change might have been made or any other info, but you're not insane.
