Buffy The Vampire Slayer

Ted - S2-E11

Deliberate mistake: The second time Buffy and Ted fight, Buffy stabs Ted with a nail-file and exposes circuitry under Ted's skin, revealing he's a robot. However, the "wound" on Ted's arm is far too huge to have been exposed by a single stab from a nail-file.

Ted - S2-E11

Continuity mistake: After the mini-golf scene, Buffy comes down to her kitchen. Her mother greets her and sets down a carton of orange juice. In the first shot, her mother is holding the carton with both hands. But in the next shot as she sets it down, she only has one hand on the carton.

Ted - S2-E11

Continuity mistake: When Buffy, Xander and Willow are talking at the school near the beginning in front of the vending machine, watch the way Buffy is holding her pink binder. First she's holding it to her side, but shifts it in front of her chest. Instantly, in the next shot it's back by her side. Then it's back in front of her chest again.

Ted - S2-E11

Revealing mistake: In the beginning of the episode, when Buffy stakes the vampire that she beats up for a long time, watch when she lifts the stake. The hole in the vampire's chest is a solid 8" below where she actually hit him with the stake. (It's an effects shot, so somehow, they just didn't line up).

Prophecy Girl - S1-E12

Deliberate mistake: When Willow and Jenny go out to the parking lot only to discover vampires converging on the school, pay attention to the extras. You can make out some of the same extras in different shots coming from different directions. (Most notably, you can see a woman in a long black-and-white skirt coming from the direction of the parking lot, then a few shots later, she's suddenly over in the football field coming from there.) They obviously reused extras in different shots to "pad out" the crowds.

Prophecy Girl - S1-E12

Continuity mistake: When Giles and Jenny are talking about Buffy, Giles says "We must get in touch with this Brother Luca chap!" watch Giles. In the first shot he's still reaching towards the top of the cabinet. Instantly in the next shot, he's in the middle pulling something down from the top of the cabinet.

Prophecy Girl - S1-E12

Continuity mistake: When Buffy is consoling Willow after she discovered the dead students, as Buffy leaves the room, Willow's mouth is open and she looks down. It then cuts to a wideshot. Instantly, Willow's mouth is closed and she's staring forward, and she looks down a second time.

Prophecy Girl - S1-E12

Visible crew/equipment: When Buffy meets Giles in the library after the opening credits, and they start talking, throughout the scene, you can see set lights and reflectors reflected in Giles' glasses multiple times. This happens often throughout the series, but is particularly noticeable here.

Prophecy Girl - S1-E12

Continuity mistake: In the beginning, when Xander is practicing asking Buffy out with Willow, at once point Willow puts one of her snacks (candies, I think) into her mouth and starts chewing in a medium/wide profile shot of the two. It then cuts to a closeup of her and instantly she's no longer chewing, and immediately places a second candy in her mouth. She didn't have time to stop chewing and swallow between cuts.

Out Of Mind, Out Of Sight - S1-E11

Continuity mistake: When Buffy finds the invisible girl's "home" in the ceiling and picks up her flute, the position of everything on her bed changes between the initial closeup we saw and the shot of Buffy picking up the flute. Ex. In the initial closeup, the flute is on an open case, while in the shot where Buffy picks it up the case is closed. All the sheet music is in a slightly different position. A cylindrical object appears next to the flute that wasn't there in the initial closeup, etc.

Touched - S7-E20

Spike: You listen to me. [Kneels in front of her.] I've been alive a bit longer than you, and dead a lot longer than that. I've seen things you couldn't imagine, and done things I prefer you didn't. I don't exactly have a reputation for being a thinker. I follow my blood, which doesn't exactly rush in the direction of my brain. So I make a lot of mistakes, a lot of wrong bloody calls. A hundred plus years, and there's only one thing I've ever been sure of: you. [Buffy looks away; he reaches toward her face.] Hey, look at me. I'm not asking you for anything. When I say, "I love you, " it's not because I want you or because I can't have you. It has nothing to do with me. I love what you are, what you do, how you try. I've seen your kindness and your strength. I've seen the best and the worst of you. And I understand with perfect clarity exactly what you are. You're a hell of a woman. You're the one, Buffy.
Buffy: [Quietly.] I don't wanna be the one.

Chosen answer: "So goes the nation" seems to have been used on many occasions, with various different US states in the "As .... goes" section. Most commonly it seems to be California that's considered to lead the way, but probably most other states have appeared in the lead role at some point or another. Other things have also been used - no less a person that Pope John Paul II said "As the family goes, so goes the nation...". The origin of the quote format is unclear - in US politics it goes back into the 19th century, when it was Maine that held the title spot, but, while no definitive origin is known, it seems highly likely that it goes back considerably further than that.
