I am looking for an animated movie or TV show, that would have been from the 1980's I believe. I recall a skeleton that talks, jewels, and a hero-type character. They are at a cave-like place at night. I believe the skeleton was an obstacle that they had to get through, maybe asking password questions. I watched a lot of Carebears, My Little Pony, and Rainbow Brite. Can anyone help me figure this out?

Transformers (2007)
Question: When the people in the military base channel the All Spark to create a Transformer, it is evil and tries to shoot them; and the Transformers that Sam creates from machines in the city by accident also appear to attack the humans around them. If the All Spark can only create evil Transformers then where did the good ones come from?
Chosen answer: I don't think we have enough information to say that it only creates evil transformers. I think it would be more accurate to say that it creates transformers that ACT bad, which could be because they don't know the difference yet. There is a difference between amoral and immoral. Amoral creatures don't know the difference and could then do a lot of bad things in their excitement for being created. Immoral creatures do bad things because they know they're bad. Alternatively the transformers are actually evil because they're interacting with earth technology, all of which was derived from Megatron who's very much evil already.

General questions
This is a black-and-white movie, where a man is staying in a house that is haunted. After a woman in the house takes him to his room, he notices her talking to a painting of a man and then kissing it good night. Earlier in the movie, when the man was saying goodbye to his wife, she didn't want him to touch her, so that her coat and hair wouldn't get dirty/messed up. I think she got on a train, but I'm not sure. Does anyone know what movie this is?
Answer: That would be "Young Frankenstein" with Gene Wilder (the man) and Madeline Kahn (his fiance, not wife). It's directed by Mel Brooks and a classic send-up of the horror genre.

X-Men 3 (2006)
Question: Has any reason ever been given for Gambit's absence from all the X-men movies? He's an interesting and cool character and is a fan favorite, so why leave him out?
Answer: They actually were going to put in a quick scene in X2 that showed Gambit reacting when Jason is targetting all of the mutants, and if you look on the screen of the computer when Mystique is in Stryker's office, figuring out where Magneto is being held, you can see Gambit's real name flash on screen. But why he didn't appear can simply be summed up with "It just didn't happen." They seem to use the mutants that help out the story that they are trying to tell, and Gambit doesn't really stand out in a number of ways. In ability, he's quite similar to Cyclops and in attitude, he's very much like Wolverine.

I can't remember the title of this children's film. It's a cartoon. Here's what I remember about it: It's about a little boy who must save a city (I think). Some random things that I remember are: he sees a bright light beneath a door in his house (it may have been a train coming through the house), at some point he is on his bed in the middle of an ocean or some large body of water, he arrives in a place that is very colorful and cheerful, with lots of hot airb alloons and toys. He gets a key at some point that he needs to use on a pair of huge doors. There are slimy / gooey monsters. Even if you aren't sure, I'd appreciate ANY possibility of what this movie might be. Thank you in advance.

Answer: I believe you're thinking of The Watcher in the Woods. It's one of the first movies that stretched Disney away from the over-cute movies they are most known for. I very much enjoy it, but it can be creepy for the young'uns at times.

I remember a trailer for a movie (or possibly tv show preview) in which a woman threatens to stab herself in the aorta, raising a pen to her throat, and a man informs her that the aorta is in the heart. Any idea what this is from?
Answer: You're thinking of Girl Interrupted. In the movie, Lisa (played by Angelina Jolie) threatens to stab herself in the aorta, but Valerie (played by Whoopie Goldberg) informs her that the aorta is in the chest.

Question: In the book, whenever someone used the polyjuice potion to change into another person, their voices changed too. In the film their voices remained the original, it didn't change into the voice of the person they were transforming into. Can someone tell me what prompted the makers of this movie to make this change?
Answer: Actually, that only happens in this movie and was most likely decided on because it would be easier for the younger audience to identify with the altered Harry and Ron if they had something they could connect to the character. In the fourth movie, Crouch's voice changed to Moody's. The reason that the kid's voice didn't change could be explained as a result of the fact that, being novice potion makers and children, they didn't quite get the potion exactly right.

I remember a film as a child and have forgotten the name. A group of children go to stay at their grandparents' house in the country. One day they see a rainbow and decide to go to the end of it. When they get there they see a pot of gold and they meet a leprechaun. At the end of the film all I can remember is the leprechaun character walking off into the sunset with a taller man and the children going back to their parents' house.

Question: In the movie, when Mystic is being hit by "the cure", it was shown that she was naked. But when she shape-shift to be another person, the clothes were part of her disguise (as shown when she change into the president / small girl in the hold up cell). That being the case, does that mean that even when she is another person, she is in reality naked? If she is naked how could she withstand the cold? Just curious to know.
Answer: Yes, all clothes she wore as a mutant were part of her (or they wouldn't have changed with her) and she appears to have an inherent resistence to cold. For instance, in the first movie, Senator Kelly's breath is visible when Magneto tests the device on him and she seems to be unafected by the cold in her blue form. And if it ever got too cold for her, remember that a polar bear doesn't wear clothes either. Even if though the clothes are part of her, they can still have thermal properties.

Question: What are the lyrics and name of the song Willy sings during the creepy boat ride?
Answer: The song has no real name. It was a poem/song that Dahl put into the book durring the tunnel scene (Actually, they are the only song lyrics in the whole movie that actually came out of the book, I believe.) The words go like this: "There's no earthly way of knowing / Which direction we are going! / There's no knowing where we're rowing, / Or which way they river's flowing! / Is it raining? Question: In the last episode of Season 1 (Honeymoon) towards the beginning when House first asks for a diagnosis from the other 3 doctors, he asks something along the lines of "Have I missed anything?" after he explains what to do. After he says that Dr. Chase says "Kitchen sink" House starts to say something then stops and says "Oh, you minx" What did Chase mean when he said kitchen sink?

Question: I was just wondering why the Sorting Hat speaks out loud in the film, because in the book it was only heard in the pupil's head. Obviously it would need to shout out the house at the end, but everything else could be a bit personal, and shouldn't be shouted to the whole school.
Answer: This is a common movie tactic. Telepathic communication can be confusing in a movie, making it hard to really know where the voice is coming from. Being a kid's movie, they apparently opted to eliminate the telepathic element as it could easily confuse the target audience who may not be very familiar with the concept of telepathic voiceover.

Question: What is the significance of the meeting between Bruce and Ducard at the party right before Ducard torches Bruce's house? Was Ras Al Ghul really Ducard or was Ras Al Ghul even a real person?
Answer: Ducard is the real leader of the League of Shaddows. Whether he is Ras Al Ghul is debateable. The whole idea of theatricality is present. "Ras Al Ghul" is a figurehead, not necessarily a single man. This gives immortality in much the same way that Bruce mentioned that, as a symbol, he could be incorruptible and untouchable.
Answer: Bruce does refer to Ducard directly as "Ra's" in this scene, stating it with some emphasis to show that he has come to the realization that Ducard is the leader of the League of Shadows: "Or cheap parlor tricks to conceal your true identity, *Ra's*?" Ducard does not challenge or deny the name, but the uncertainty still remains.
Answer: Ducard was always Ra's Al Ghul. The other guy was a cover/patsy to protect the real Ra's. He likely never planned on Bruce knowing that he was the leader of the league of shadows. When Bruce turned against him, he decided to tell him.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)
Question: In Return Of The Jedi when Ben is discussing with Luke about Leia being his sister, Ben says, "When your father left, he didn't know your mother was pregnant. Your mother and I knew he would find out eventually, but we wanted to keep you both as safe as possible, for as long as possible." This doesn't match up with what happens in Episode III because Vader knew that Padme was pregnant, just not with twins, and Ben and Padme had no time to discuss how to keep them safe. I ask this as a question rather than a mistake in case I am missing something.
Answer: Obi-wan never says anything of the sort (although that line's in the novelisation, but only the movies are regarded as canon). What he says is "To protect you both from the Emperor, you were hidden from your father when you were born. The Emperor knew, as I did, if Anakin were to have any offspring, they would be a threat to him. That is the reason why your sister remains safely anonymous." He never mentions what Anakin may or may not have known at all.

Answer: It's kind of a vague description, but it sounds a bit like a scene from the Last Unicorn. There is a talking skeleton who they have to talk with to find the way to the Red Bull's lair. Though you could be thinking of another movie entirely.
